Last Call For Parent Class Placement Feedback
As you are aware, we spend a tremendous amount of time creating our classes for the next school year. Teachers provide information about each child’s math and reading levels, academic strengths and weaknesses, learning styles and social/emotional needs. In preparing for the 2026-27 school year, if you feel your child has a special need or there are other considerations you would like to bring to our attention (examples: separate “best friends,” consider personal changes, etc.), please complete the student class placement form. This is an electronic form and can be accessed here:
2026-27 Student Class Placement Request – Fill out form
Forms that name or describe a specific teacher will not be considered. Please note, we do our best to honor all requests, but it is not guaranteed and cannot always be met due to other factors such as academic levels, programs, etc. All forms should be submitted by April 27, 2026. Forms from previous years and late forms will not be considered.

It’s hard to believe, but we have only six weeks left of school! As we begin counting down to graduation and celebrating our amazing fifth graders, you may be interested in purchasing a 5th Grade Graduation Celebration Yard Sign to recognize your child’s big accomplishment.
These signs are a fun way to celebrate our students as they prepare to move on to middle school and can be displayed proudly in your yard.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the Class of 2026. We are so proud of them!
Future Absence Requests
We will not accept any future absence requests between May 11th – May 21st. This time of year is extremely busy as students are taking end of year assessments, completing major projects, and participating in end of year activities with their classes. Therefore, any future absence requests that are made for the final 2 weeks of school will be denied as we have too many critical dates to plan around for this time of year. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing all of our wildcats in attendance as we wrap up the school year.
Also, we need 5 days advance notice before the first requested absence date for all future absence requests. This applies to both pre-approved absence requests and remote learning absence requests. This allows our teachers and staff time to prepare for a students future absence.

Attendance Matters ALL DAY, EVERYDAY
TAKE ATTENDANCE SERIOUSLY
It’s common for students to experience a significant increase in chronic absenteeism during the winter months due to an increase in typical illnesses. If your child must be absent due to illness, please email WCESResidency@fultonschools.org, your child’s (1) legal first and last name, (2) teacher’s name, (3) all the dates your child was absent, and the (4) reason for missing school. Please also copy your child's homeroom teacher on the email. It is important to include a photo or scanned image of the doctor’s note, if you take your child to be seen. If your child is missing a lot of school due to illness, please reach out to our clinic assistant, Ms. Ankita Doshi, for guidance. Chronic absenteeism occurs when students miss 10% or more of school for any reason.
Additionally, it's important that kids arrive to school on time every day. Please remember that our car rider line can back up closer to 7:30. Consider being in line closer to 7:10 or by having your child ride the school bus to prevent tardies.
Help Your Child Succeed in School: Build the Habit of Good Attendance! School success goes hand in hand with good attendance!
