Cooper Family Check In Form
We value communication with our Cooper families. Please use this form as often as you would like to communicate with us here at Cooper! Simply click the button above and take a few minutes to fill out the form!

From the Desk of Mr. Lieberz

Cooper Families,

Parent-Teacher Conferences are being held virtually this year on October 12th and 19th from 4 PM to 8 PM. In the next few days, teachers will be sending a link to sign up using Google Calendar Appointment Slots. Please be sure to sign up for your child's conference. If you need assistance with signing up or need other accommodations, please communicate with your child's teacher.

Also, please send a water bottle with your child each day. Drinking fountains are turned off for student safety but the water bottle fillers are on. It has been warm out this week! Let us know if you need anything.

Thank you!

Aaron Lieberz

Counselor Talk

This week we have been practicing the art of listening. Listening is not only important for learning but for making (and keeping!) friends as well. We've been working on the rules "eyes watching, ears listening, voices quiet, and bodies calm". Key skills are focusing on the speaker, not interrupting, asking questions, and repeating what you heard. One of the greatest gifts you can give another person is truly listening to them. It makes them feel cared about and respected. We are also talking about being able to ignore distractions and using self-talk to keep your brain focused on what is being said. You can practice and model these skills at home. Screens can prove to be a big distraction to listening. Encourage kids to turn of the screen (or pause and put it down) to be sure they are whole body listening and understanding.
