Superintendent Update: March 2026

Good morning Lebanon School Community,
I hope you had a restful February break. It is wonderful to see everyone back at school today.
I want to remind you that on Tuesday, March 10, our community will vote on the Lebanon School District budget and warrant. Throughout the budget process, we have kept one guiding principle at the heart of our work: students first. From the beginning, our proposed budget was designed to support high-quality instruction, safe and welcoming learning environments, and the skills outlined in our Vision of a Learner, ensuring every student is challenged to reach their full potential.
Through thoughtful deliberations, careful analysis, and collaboration between the School Board and district leadership, the initial proposal was reduced by $1,431,777. This reduction reflects a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility while maintaining our focus on student learning, well-being, and opportunity. The proposed budget continues to:
Support strong academic programming across all grade levels
Maintain services that meet the diverse needs of our learners
Invest in safe, well-maintained school facilities
Sustain extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities that enrich the student experience
Every decision was made with careful consideration of impact, prioritizing what matters most for students while being responsible stewards of taxpayer resources. We encourage all community members to stay informed and participate in this important civic process. For complete budget information, including detailed explanations and supporting materials, please visit the budget documents page on our website. Together, we can continue building an educational experience that ensures every student matters and every moment counts. More information about voting on Tuesday, March 10, can be found on the city website here.

Pinned to Perfection: 100 Wins for Standout Senior
Congratulations to Senior Will Healey, who celebrated his 100th wrestling win last month. Will has wrestled all four years of high school and is a multi-year team captain and leader. He is the first wrestler in school history to reach this milestone. Even though Will will graduate in June, he plans to return next year to the coaching staff. Congratulations on 100 wins, Will!

Staff Shoutouts:
Lebanon Teachers: Growing, Leading, and Inspiring
Striking the Right Chord: Mr. Terry Takes Center Stage
An LMS parent sent in the following shoutout for Music Teacher Christian Terry: "It is so clear how much Mr. Terry loves both his work and his students. He goes above and beyond in countless ways, striking a wonderful balance between making band fun and accessible while also building real skill and musicianship. We are incredibly grateful for his enthusiasm, dedication, and the positive impact he has on the kids." A round of applause for Mr. Terry!
In a League of Her Own: Celebrating Jane Rice
An LHS parent sent in the following shout for Special Education Coordinator Jane Rice: "Jane Rice stands at the top of the list in a league all of her own. She is dedicated to each of her students and is very passionate and determined to identify and provide them with all of the tools within her broad toolbox to help them succeed. She sees the value and potential in each of her students, regardless of the challenges they may pose. She has never given up on my son. From almost the first time she met him, she was able to identify what his challenges were and, most importantly, she has always seen his potential and strengths and come up with a plan to help him succeed. She has always remained respectful, professional, and positive, regardless of how difficult it must have been with some of the situations that have come up in the past 4 years. I feel that she has gone above and beyond, and when I have expressed the gratitude I have, her humble response is, “he is worth it” or “that’s what I’m here for.” I’ve never heard her complain ... Jane is pretty incredible and deserves to be recognized on a greater level. She is a gem and LHS, and the students she works with are very fortunate to have her in their corner."
