Help Design the Future of WHS

Wenatchee School District is seeking community members to serve on the WHS Design Advisory Committee—a group that will work directly with architects and district leadership to help shape critical design decisions for our new high school.

  • 🏊 Keep the gyms, pool, and auditorium—or include them in a rebuild?
  • 📐 How should the building be positioned on the existing site?
  • 🎓 What spaces and features will best serve our students and community?

Committee Details:

  • 📅 ~6 evening meetings (6:00-8:00 PM) starting mid-March
  • 🤝 Work with Integrus Architecture on design concepts
  • 💡 Bring your unique perspective to the table
  • ⏰ Applications due March 4, 2026

We're looking for diverse voices—parents, students, staff, alumni, business owners, taxpayers, and community members who can commit to this important work. Can't commit to the full committee? Public input sessions and design meetings will be available throughout the spring. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help design a high school that will serve our community for decades to come. Your voice matters!

WHS Students Shine at Winter Academic Competitions

FFA AgMech - Last week Mr. Juchmes took the ag mech team to a welding contest at Brewster high school where they competed against Brewster, Chelan, and Cashmere in Arc welding, Oxy-Acetylene welding, and oxy-acetylene cutting. Two students placed in the top ten for arc welding. One placed 3rd in oxy-acetylene welding. And four took the top 4 places in oxy-acetylene cutting! Great job, Panthers!

Mock Trial - WHS Mock Trial Teams competed this past weekend at the district tournament where the Purple team took 2nd place, earning a berth in the state tournament. Jamie Marshall won best attorney overall at the tournament, and Rowan Reynolds and Coralie Kummer tied for best witness overall! Congratulations to all of the students who competed, and a special shoutout to those nominated for Best Attorney or Best Witness: Cici Tang, Madeline Sutton, Derek Kramer, Skylar Simon, Otto Friedli, Valerie Espinoza, Will Dexter, Ahnikka Conrad

Knowledge Bowl - The WHS Knowledge Bowl team continued their momentum with a fantastic performance at the tournament in Leavenworth on Monday. Wenatchee's 1st Team (Ben Newman, Neal Nayak, Cici Tang) won the competition with three wins and 56 total points, and second place was taken by Casheme's 2nd team with 35 points. Wenatchee students will compete at regionals as the #1 seed this Saturday. A victory there would take Wenatchee to the state tournament for the third year in a row!

Practicing Jazz With the Pros

The Wenatchee Jazz Workshop returned this week for its 25th year! Since 2001, professional musicians have joined classrooms to work collaboratively with students throughout the Wenatchee Valley. Rather than simply lecturing and performing, the pros play alongside students, giving them guidance tailored to their specific instrument. The workshop kicked off Monday morning with the WHS Jazz Band, where students performed and practiced dynamics, rhythm, pitch, and more!

The week culminates in the annual Jazz Nights concert right here at WHS! Join us for a night of music and community on Friday, February 27 at 7 PM in the auditorium to see what our students have been learning. Tickets are available online or at the door.
