Springton Lake’s Annual Turkey Trot is scheduled for Monday, November 24th. In order to promote whole school involvement, the Turkey Trot will be held during the SCHOOL DAY! All students are welcome to participate - all they need is a partner! Prizes will be awarded for each grade level, and there are three categories for teams: Boys, Girls, and Mixed. Any students who are not running will be spectating and cheering on their peers. Please have your child dress for potentially cold weather.

Along with the Turkey Trot, the Community Service Club will be sponsoring a canned food drive from now through November 21st. Each homeroom will collect canned goods/essential items, and the homeroom for each grade level that collects the most cans, will receive apple cider donuts for breakfast on Monday, November 24th!

Parents are invited to come to cheer on your children. The schedule is as follows:

7th grade = 10:45am

8th grade = 12:20pm

As we continue into the fall months, it's crucial to maintain a healthy environment in our school to protect students during the respiratory virus season. If your child is ill, please consult the following RTMSD guidelines to determine if they should attend school:

When to keep your child home

Keeping your sick child at home will help them recover sooner and prevent the spread of germs.

Reminding your student to cover their cough and the importance of good handwashing goes a long way in preventing the spread of bacteria and viruses. Proper nutrition and getting plenty of rest helps to maintain their immune system. Please remind your student not to share water bottles, cups/glasses and eating utensils.

A reminder about our district medication policy. Students are not permitted to have any medication with them at school. Only inhalers and EpiPens with self-carry doctor's orders are permitted. Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and Tums are available at the health office with parent permission. If your student needs any other medication at school, please see the Administrations of Medication policy for instructions.

Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy.

Scholastic Book Fair Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to The Lake during American Education week, November 17-21. Students will visit the fair in their language arts classes, and payments can be made via cash, checks to Rose Tree Media, credit card, Apple/Google Pay, or eWallet. Learn more about the fair on our
Scholastic Book Fair page. Set up an eWallet for your child prior to the fair so they have money to spend on a book when they visit the fair. (Leftover money can be spent at the online fair through November 27th.) We look forward to this popular event and the opportunity to offer great titles to our students at Scholastic's low prices.

To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.

Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
