Newbury Park High School, Rising 11th Grader

This is the 8th year of SDAC, and we are proud that this Committee continues to provide a safe space for student voice and collaboration between schools. We look forward to seeing the positive work of this new leadership team next school year, and to welcoming new and returning SDAC members to the 2026-2027 Committee! At the Wednesday, May 6th Board of Education meeting, Annual Resolution #25/26-43: In Remembrance of the Tulsa Race Massacre was approved. Click here to learn more.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office would like to address our youth and young adults' growing use of E-bikes, bicycles, and electric scooters. These vehicles can be useful in reducing traffic and allowing young people a means of transportation other than motor vehicles to school and other activities. However, we have seen recent increases in collisions involving our youth on e-bikes, bicycles, and scooters. The increased speed provided by E-bikes and electric scooters requires increased care in their use:
🛑 Traffic rules must be followed, and helmets must be worn at all times.
Family participation and engagement is a key priority of the CVUSD. Our seven Advisory Councils and Committees meet regularly for vibrant discussions, informative presentations, relationship-building activities and more. These meetings are open to all members of our CVUSD community to attend. However, we understand that attending meetings in-person is not always possible.
🌟 The Updates from Advisory Councils/Committees webpage serves as a place to stay informed on updates and actions from each Advisory Council and Committee, with "Up to Five Key Takeaways" from each meeting posted regularly after meetings are held. Check out the latest takeaways, here: https://www.conejousd.org/5KeyTakeaways.
Interested? Join us for a Walk-In Interview event on Wednesday, June 3rd from 9am-1pm in our University Center MPR located at 2801 Atlas Avenue in Thousand Oaks. Click here to learn more.
Making Waves: Newbury Park High's Megan Wang Earns State Champion Swim Title
Up next, Megan will head to the University of California San Diego where she will continue her swim career at the collegiate level for the NCAA Division I athletics program - congratulations!
The CVUSD is proud to provide students with the opportunity to join a diverse array of athletic teams during their educational journeys. This school year more than 55 scholar-athletes from the Class of 2026 have committed to playing more than 15 different sports at the collegiate level. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, perseverance and dedication of these scholar-athletes. It is also proof of the high caliber coaches and athletic programs our high schools are committed to maintaining to support student success.
Click here to check out the complete list of scholar-athletes, sport, and the post-secondary destination that they are attending.
We celebrate our students' accomplishments and look forward to watching them continue to grow and succeed in their athletics and academic endeavors at the next level!
