Dear Stewart Families,

Thank you for the birthday love. I can't imagine being anywhere but Stewart. I was spoiled all day long. I love our Stewart Family.

The lost and found is overflowing. We have laid everything out on tables. Please have your student look through it to see if anything belongs to them.

If you are not sure if you have purchased your yearbook you can check in your myDSD account or you can call the office. Orders close April 30th.

Here are the three things you need to know for the week.

  1. Our student council is conducting a cereal drive to benefit the Bountiful Food Pantry. See the details below.
  2. Educational concern forms are now available online through Friday, April 25. These forms are optional but are available to parents if you would like us to consider special factors when making class placements for the 2025-2026 school year. Please use the following link to access the form. https://forms.office.com/r/pjxA54P5Fh
  3. Seussical Jr. Cast party is on Friday at 1:30 pm. Bring a snack to share.

Every day is a great day to be a Star!

Sincerely,

Checking your student out from school

Each parent will need to know their myDSD account information so they can check their student out on the iPads in the office. Having parents check their students out on the iPad is another layer of security for all. Please make it a point to learn this information. Students can check themselves in when coming to school late, but they cannot check themselves out.

PTA Information PTA Information

The PTA is looking for volunteers to help with Field Day on May 21. If you are interested, please reach out to Lida Ripplinger.

Excellence Project

Everyone should have something they are passionate about learning and doing! Pick an area of interest and begin the steps towards being an expert in that area and striving for excellence!

This month students will display their EXCELLENCE PROJECTS that they have been working on throughout the school year.
To earn this month
’s letter “E” – students will do the following:

1. Make a list of things that interest you.

2. Circle something you would like to learn more about.

3. Write a proposal of what you would like to do and how you will present what you learned. (See the last page of this booklet.)

4. Submit the proposal to your teacher and get it approved .

5. Create a timeline for learning the information or skill and for creating a presentation of what you have learned.

6. Complete your project. We will display these projects at school during the month of May.

The sky is the limit! You could …

o Learn more about a topic and create a poster, digital presentation, pamphlet, 3D representation, and more that displays what you have learned.

o Learn more about an author or a genre by reading books in that category and creating a display of your favorite books, characters, and more.

o Learn a skill and create a video of you doing that skill. We can play videos on our school TV in the front lobby.

o Start a new hobby and display artifacts of what you have been doing.

Monthly Brag Tags

  1. We are asking our parents for extra support with attendance and daily home reading this year. Students will have an opportunity to earn a brag tag in each of these areas each month, starting in September. Please help your students establish these habits now so they can be successful in earning their brag tags. They will experience the magic this year one day at a time and one page at a time!

  • Attendance: Students can earn an attendance brag tag if they have 1 or less absences that month.
  • Reading: Students can earn a reading brag tag if they read at home a minimum of 18 days during the month for at least 20 minutes each day (15 minutes for kindergarten). Students will report this to their teacher.

Lettering Challenge

Each of you makes our school a wonderful place to be. Together we will continue to develop qualities that make our school a happy place for all. One way we will do this is through our LETTERING Challenge.

We will focus on one character trait each month. You will have the opportunity to complete the steps outlined in this booklet to help you develop that trait. Each student who completes all the steps for the month will earn that month’s letter, which will be printed on a star brag tag. We hope you will earn all the letters for the year – MAGIC!

There will also be a bonus letter, E for excellence. Students will complete their own Excellence Project to earn this letter. You will want to start this project by second term. Information about this project is on the following page so you can begin to think about ideas. Seeing everyone’s projects on display will be one of the highlights of our year!

We are so glad you are at Stewart Elementary. We know you will love EXPERIENCING THE MAGIC this year!
