WECC
22-23 Template
January 12, 2025
Good Morning,
Registration Information:
Informational letters will go home this upcoming Wednesday and Thursday, via your child's backpack, regarding preK registrations for the 25-26 school year. If you plan to have your child return to WECC please complete and return the questionnaire no later than Friday, January 24th.
If you have a sibling, that you would like to enroll, families must register using your existing Family Connection account. Families can then call beginning January 27 to make an appointment to complete part II of the registration process.
Assistant Principal Update:
Beginning on Tuesday, January 21, Ms. MacKay will begin to transition back to a full time Assistant Principal position at WECC. This decision was based upon a careful review of our current needs across the district and will allow Ms. MacKay the ability to be more effective and focused in her role at WECC.
Together we look forward to continuing to provide the best educational experiences and outcomes for students while collaborating with our families.
Professional Day- Half Day
There is a half day for all students on Tuesday, January 14th due to the District Wide Professional Day. Dismissal for all students is at 10:45 a.m.

How to Help your Child Have a Successful BedTime
About this Series
The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior.
Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home

I'm a Super Reader
Help us reach our goal of 10,000 books
One of the most important gifts we can give our children is to help them learn to read and write so that they can succeed in school and beyond. Confident, active readers are able to use their reading skills to follow their passions and curiosity about the world. We all read for a purpose: to be entertained, to take a journey of the imagination, to connect with others, to figure out how to do something, and to learn about history, science, the arts, and everything else.
We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.
