Wessagusset Elementary School
January 25, 2026
Dear Wessagusset Families,
No School Tomorrow!
Due to the storm, there will be no school tomorrow. Please take extra care and stay safe during the storm today and into tomorrow. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school when conditions improve.
Looking Ahead to February - American Heart Month
February is just around the corner, and we’ll be recognizing American Heart Month! To show our support for heart health awareness, we encourage all students and staff to wear RED on Friday, February 6th. We can show our school spirit while promoting healthy hearts!
Go Patriots!
We are rooting for another win today for the Pats - one win away from the Super Bowl!
The Weymouth Food Pantry is involved in a SOUPer Bowel game of their own. Weymouth and Franklin Food Pantries are facing off in the SOUPer Bowl 2026 Soup Drive! Community members are encouraged to donate cans of soup. The pantry that collects the most soup by February 8, 2026, will be named the SOUPer Bowl Champ 2026. Every donation helps support local families in need. We will have a collection box in the vestibule this week.
Go Pats and Go Weymouth Food Pantry!
Kind regards,
Mrs. Jango, Principal
Mrs. Reinhart, Assistant Principal

Dear Wessagusset Families,
We hope you are enjoying the long weekend with your family.
Reminder: No School Tomorrow.
On Monday, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader who taught the world the power of kindness, courage, and standing up for what is right. Students have been learning about Dr. King’s message of fairness, respect, and helping others. Through stories, discussions, and classroom activities, students have learned how even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
As a school, we continue to reflect on how we can live out Dr. King’s dream each day, by including others, using our voices to spread positivity, and treating everyone with dignity and care.
This past Friday, Weymouth seniors Noor Al Saabiri and Cruz Nastasia, students in the Allied Health program, visited our school to present their Senior Project on chronic health conditions to our fourth and fifth grade students. Our students were attentive, respectful, and asked thoughtful questions that showed both curiosity and care for the topic.
We thank Noor and Cruz for sharing their learning and inspiring our students. These seniors plan to pursue careers in health care. Their presentation was a wonderful example of leadership, service, and real-world learning.
Kindergarten registration is just around the corner, and we are excited to begin planning for the incoming kinders! To support our planning, families are asked to please complete the Sibling Survey linked in the section below.
Additional information about kindergarten registration, including eligibility, required documents, creating a Family Connection account, and more, can be found on our District website by clicking Kindergarten Registration Link.
Thank you for helping us prepare to welcome our newest learners and families into our Wessagusset community!
We hope you enjoy the extra day, and Go Pats!
Kind regards,
Mrs. Jango, Principal
Mrs. Reinhart, Assistant Principal

Dear Wessagusset Families,
We hope you and your family have had a wonderful start to the New Year!
Students have settled back into their school routines and are off to a great start. Our Winter Benchmark Assessment window is now open, and students will be assessed over the next few weeks. ACCESS testing for our English Learners will begin soon.
Please note that Tuesday, January 13th, is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 11:50, and lunch will not be served on this day.
You may have noticed students bringing home library books before the break. To help foster a love of reading, we are encouraging all students to check out a library book each week. Students should bring their library book to school on their scheduled library day to return and check out a new book. We invite families to talk with their child about the book they selected and the story they are reading. Reading library books together is a wonderful way to support literacy and encourage a lifelong love of reading.
Thank you for your support of our Patriots Spirit Day this past Friday. Wessagusset’s Patriots pride was on full display. It was wonderful to see our students showing so much enthusiasm by wearing their gear so proudly! Go Pats!
Have a wonderful week.
Kind regards,
Mrs. Jango, Principal
Mrs. Reinhart, Assistant Principal
