Be ready to discuss chapter 2, Meeting Carol, in your book discussion group Thursday.

Along with your general takeaways and insights, here is a link to some questions you can talk through with your group.

Chapter 2 Summary: Bob told the story of selling the house next door to a widow named Carol who became part of their family. When she was diagnosed with cancer, Bob and his family showed love by communicating via walkie-talkie. Through her life, they learned to ”be not afraid” and faced the journey together.

Hall passes

6th-12th grade teachers, make sure students receive a hall pass when leaving your building during class. Doors automatically open between classes.

7th-12th Grade Medication

Students in 7th–12th grade can now receive their medicine from Mrs. Ruth in the cafeteria. This central location should make it convenient for students to access their medicine when needed. For Advil or Tylenol, it is helpful if parents can provide written notice of the appropriate dosage before the student requests medicine. This can be done through a note, phone call, or text. Please encourage students to visit Mrs. Ruth between classes or during lunch whenever possible.

Lunch Cleaner Schedules

7th-12th grade homeroom teachers, please make a copy of your table cleaner schedule and give it to Mrs. Ruth.

Attendance

Please remember to take Homeroom attendance each morning. This is especially important as we need an accurate record of each student’s daily attendance. MS/HS teachers will also need to take attendance for each class period.

Please mark students as:

• P = Present
• AE / AU = Absent
• T / TU = Tardy

Field Trip Form

Please note that our field trip forms have been updated. The forms currently in your teacher binder are no longer valid and should not be used. You can download a copy attached below, or you can pick up a copy from the office.

Elementary Spiritual Emphasis | Wed-Fri, 8/19-21

Chapel each day at 8:30.

Spend some time in your classes recapping or asking questions about what they heard.

Fire Drill | Monday, 8/24 @ 9:15

Make sure your students are prepared and aware of the procedure.

Picture Day | Tuesday, 8/25

Pictures will be taken in the church lobby. Gather your class in the auditorium to get students in order before heading to the lobby. Please make sure students have their order forms with them when they go to take pictures. Please refer to the attachment below for this year's class picture schedule.

Staff Discount: Staff members will receive 10% off their order for their children this year! Orders must be placed online using the code 10%STAFF. This discount code is only available through Monday, August 24th.

MS and HS Spiritual Retreats | Wednesday, 8/26 and Thursday-Friday, 8/27-28

Please review the schedule below for arrival and departure times. We have also attached the class coverage schedule for teachers who will be attending the retreat. If you are on the retreat, please review your coverage assignments and communicate your lesson plans and any necessary instructions to the teachers covering your classes.
