MPS Supports Our Community
Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) values every member of our community and we are always here for you. We teach our students and expect our staff to welcome, respect and embrace each other. Hate is never acceptable. At MPS, we believe it is always the right time to show your neighbors that we care for and support them. Please join us.
In this moment, we especially want Somali and Latino members of our community to know that you are welcomed, loved, and appreciated. Nothing anyone says will ever change that, and yet we know it still hurts to hear hateful and targeted comments.
We know that many different members of our community are living in fear and uncertainty right now. MPS is here to support you. Changes in federal immigration enforcement practices do not impact MPS’ legal responsibility to protect the rights and privacy of our students, staff and families. We will continue to follow MPS protocols, policies and state and federal laws. This website has information and resources to help our community navigate through what’s happening.

Anthony Site Council
Site Council meeting Tuesday, 12/9 at 4:00pm. Room 102.
The Site Council supports the mission of the school and uplift the four strategic goals of the district: academic achievement, student well-being, effective staff, school and district climate. Members of the council provide feedback to the administrative and instructional leadership team and serve as a resource between members and the community.
The Site Council is comprised of staff, parents, and community members who represent the interests of all constituents within the Anthony community. Members should reflect the racial, ethnic, language, ability, and cultural diversity of the student body.
We are currently looking for 2-3 parents and 1 community member to join the Anthony Site Council as a few folks are unable to continue their term this school year. If you are interested, please reach out to Principal Vue at maichang.vue@mpls.k12.mn.us or 612-668-3241.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, December 9 at 4:00pm in room 102. All meetings are open to the Anthony community.

Starting on the third school closure, Anthony Middle School will implement a Distance Learning Day, and families will be notified accordingly. This is determined by district leaders at Minneapolis Public Schools, not at the individual schools.
