We hope you had a relaxing and fun summer vacation and are ready for school to start.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again and to meeting some new faces as we start the new school year.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend Open House!

Come to meet the teachers, visit the classrooms and connect or re-connect with friends!

Please note - there will be 2 Open Houses this year - please pick one to attend - you do not need to attend both.

Important dates:

OPEN HOUSE : Sunday August 7 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00p.m. (for day students)

OPEN HOUSE : Tuesday August 9 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (for residential students and those who cannot come on Sunday)

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: Wednesday August 10

Early Release: Every Friday 2:05 p.m.

LABOR DAY HOLIDAY: Sept. 5

Samantha is our new teacher in our ELC Blind/Visually Impaired class! She has moved here from North Carolina and we are SO happy she is with us here at FSDB.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Samantha Ruppe and this will be my 10th year in education. I've had a variety of experiences in education - I've been a classroom and itinerant teacher for Deaf Hard of Hearing students, an ASL teacher and a teacher of students who are Deaf-Blind.

I have a Bachelors' Degree in Deaf Education, a Masters' Degree in Special Education / Low Incidence Disabilities and a Graduate Certificate in Deaf-Blind Education.

I am very excited to become a part of the FSDB family as the VI teacher in the ELC.
