MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Dear Lindblom Families,
We look forward to connecting with you during report card pickup day. Family communication is one of the most powerful ways we support student success, and it has been an unwavering priority since the start of my tenure as principal. Please make sure you’ve booked your appointment to speak with teachers.
We need your help to ensure every student receives the support and resources they deserve. Thus far, 85% of our families have submitted their Family Income Information Form (FIIF). In SY26, CPS will pay for the cost of AP exams for students who are granted fee waivers. If you are the parent of one (or more) of the 190 students who have not submitted a FIIF, please take a few minutes to complete the form even if you don’t think your family qualifies. These forms help determine how much funding our school receives for critical programs, including academic supports, classroom materials, and extracurricular opportunities. Every form submitted makes a difference for our students.
Our school fees help sustain key programs and resources that directly support students. A parent recently asked for clarification regarding the following school fees.
- General PE fee: replaces essential items like balls, mats, and weights as they wear out.
- PE consumables fee: replenishes items such as health manuals and equipment disinfectant.
- Guidance: covers expenses related to Tier 1–2 SEL initiatives, attendance incentives, and celebrations led by our Behavioral Health and Restorative Justice teams.
We have experienced two consecutive years of significant budget reductions; these modest fees, approved by our ALSC, help us continue providing strong academic, social, and emotional supports for all students.
Together we rise onward and upward.

Eagle's Fans, we need YOU!

BE IMPACTFUL
Attendance Matters
REMINDER: Students are considered tardy when they are not in their scheduled class at 8:00 am. Let's do our best to be in class on time. We are noticing many students heading to bathrooms and lockers when they arrive to school without placing any urgency to make it to class in a timely manner.
Detentions will occur from 3:15 - 4:15 on Tuesday and Thursday. If a student is late to detention, it will not count as served.
Students must ALWAYS have LMSA School ID on them, whether physical or electronic.
Students must manage their time during the passing period to ensure they make it to class on time.
Students who are tardy to class will need to visit the tardy scanners located on each floor to scan in and retrieve a tardy pass.
Students must arrive in class within three (3) minutes from the time indicated on the tardy pass.
Any student without a pass in the hallway after the initial hall sweep will be escorted to the nearest tardy station to receive a pass.
Alumni Spotlight
This week we highlight Rashaan Liddell a former alum with legacy status, and a vested community member. Please read on to learn his why.
When I heard Coach Tim Flowers describe what his basketball players experienced in China, young men from Chicago saying they finally felt safe, respected, and free...I felt that.
As someone who was born and raised on the South Side, a CPS graduate, and an educator who lived and worked in China for nearly ten years, I know exactly what he meant. The experience of feeling of safety, dignity, and possibilities is something every young person deserves.
In my new op-ed, I share why this moment should spark more than a headline. It should inspire a movement to give more Chicago Public Schools students the chance to learn, travel, and see themselves as part of a larger world.
