Yarn Donation Drive

Altrusa International of Coachella Valley is a non-profit organization dedicated to making the Coachella Valley a better community in which to live. We actively assess the needs of our community and strive to meet some of those needs through service projects.

We are always looking for volunteers to stitch (crochet, knit, quilt, etc.) items of comfort for donating.

Our generous volunteers spend countless hours creating beautiful and comforting items to donate. Often, they are purchasing their own supplies to make these items. We appreciate any donations to support our projects.

• Yarn (all varieties and sizes)
• Needles (all varieties and sizes)
• Gallon + Size Baggies
• Clear Plastic Storage Bins
• We accept gift cards to purchase yarn and supplies from the following locations: Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Amazon and Walmart.

Items To Donate:

• Hats - Baby, Child and Adult
• Blankets/Quilts (all sizes)
• Any other clothing item that will bring warmth and comfort.

How To Donate a Hand Crafted Item:

• Must be new – never worn
• Clean – free of perfume and pet hair
• Soft yarn is best- cotton, acrylic, silk, fleece or a blend is best. When making hats, we do not recommend using wool or alpaca as they can irritate the scalp.
