Important Reminders

Our mornings are getting a bit colder, and a bit darker, however, I want to remind you that school starts for students at 8:35. Barring any unforseen circumstances, students should be in the building by that time. Anyone after that time will be considered tardy.

With lots of cars coming and going and families walking over the bridge during morning drop-off, please be reminded to drive slowly when traveling on Downing Drive (our school entrance road).

What a huge success our Trunk or Treat Event was! Thank you so much to our DSA for sponsoring such a well-organized, fun-filled event for our families!

Important Family Assistance Updates

Winter Holiday Food Assistance—Deadline November 13, 2026

The Carr Foundation has a limited number of meal baskets for the winter holidays and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please utilize the contact information below to obtain further information and secure a winter holiday meal basket.

Winter Holiday Gift Assistance—Deadline, October 31, 2026

Beacon Santa provides holiday gift assistance to families with children ages 1–17. If you are interested in applying for assistance, please complete the attached application form and include an application letter. You will also need a co-signature from a school social worker to endorse your application. Please reach out to one of our school social workers to arrange for the co-signature.

Clothing Assistance—Effective Immediately

Catie’s Closet is no longer partnering with Billerica Public Schools to provide clothing for students in need. Contact information for alternative community resources can be provided to individual families seeking clothing assistance.

Billerica Food Pantry - Student Council Food Collection

Ditson Student Council will be sponsoring a Food Drive from 11/2 - 11/20 for the Billerica Food Pantry. Please feel free to send your donation into school with your child or drop it off at the school whenever you are able. Thank you!

Ditson Trunk or Treat was so fun! What a spooktastic way to start the week before Halloween! Thank you to our 30+ trunk hosts, including Mathnasium of Billerica and Goldfish Swim School of Burlington, all of our volunteers, and our chair, Jess, for bringing this event to our community.

(1) Dine Out for the DSA - Join us at Sal’s Pizza in Billerica on Thursday, October 29th, and 25% of your order will be donated to the DSA!

(2) Ditson Holiday Tree - Billerica Holiday Festival - Each year, the DSA donates a beautifully decorated tree to the Billerica Holiday Festival, and this year’s theme is Cozy Up With a Good Book! Donation details coming soon!

(3) Our next DSA Meeting is Monday, November 9th, 7pm in the LGI Room. Everyone is welcome to join us!
