From the principal.....

Thank you all for coming out on Sunday to visit with us, ease some anxiety for your student, and help us as we prepare for Monday. I also want to thank our teachers and staff - they volunteered their time to be at Hellstern on a Sunday - which is truly amazing.

I will likely send out an update on Friday or Saturday with some last minute, "need to know" information for the first day of school. The one thing you might prepare/plan for now is arrival in the morning taking a little longer than normal. We always have heavy traffic on the first day of school and it takes a week or so for all of us to settle into our normal routine. There is a map in this newsletter about where to drop-off.

We will have faculty stationed outside to help with questions and we will limit the number of people going in the building.

TEAM School Supply Lists

We are doing supply lists differently this year with the goal being to eliminate unnecessary purchases. Each team will be responsible for creating a school supply list. The lists are linked here.

EVERY student at Hellstern will need the following:

  • earbuds
  • zipper binder w/strap ("Trapper-Keeper")
  • backpack with laptop protection area built in
  • paper & pencils
  • water bottle (labeled with student name)
  • PE shirt ($10 optional) OR provide a gray t-shirt for PE
  • PE combination lock rental ($5) OR provide a combination lock

*All students are required to wear a lanyard w/an ID EVERY day. We provide the first one and you can buy extras for $5 (or if the first one is lost).

All other supplies needed will be on team lists. 7th grade students may have supplies needed for elective classes.

Facebook Live event....

With school starting back soon, many coaches, parents and players have questions about how COVID-19 will affect school sports. To help answer those questions, UAMS is hosting a Facebook Live event with Dr. Ramon Ylanan, the team physician for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks. Please help us spread the word to your school's coaches, players and parents.
