Reminders
Locks on Lockers
All Students are expected to have a lock on their assigned locker. Students who were new to SMS this year received a new lock, and others should have brought back their lock from previous year(s) to re-use. Locks cost $6.60 and can be purchased with cash or you may charge your student account. Students can get a new lock in the main office. Students are being reminded that their lockers need a lock at all times.
Lockers are used to hold personal items to be safe and secure. All items in a student locker are assumed to be the possession of your student. Therefore, it is important to keep your items locked up and not allow access to your locker by others.
After Labor Day weekend, if students do not have a lock on their locker, or are using a non-school lock, a new school lock will be placed on the locker and student accounts will be charged. Students can get new combinations from their team leader to access their locker in the event this occurs. Again, please avoid additional charges and these occurrences, and discuss this with your student. We will be reminding students daily to have their locks on their lockers as well. Thank you.
7th Grade Immunizations
ll students entering 7th grade need to receive the following immunizations prior to entering 7th grade:
One (1) dose of Meningococcal [MCV4] vaccine
(A second dose of meningococcal vaccine will be required prior to entry into the 12th grade)
One (1) dose of Tdap [tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis] vaccine
Incoming 7th and 12th graders will need to show proof of having received these vaccines before they can return to school for the 2023-24 school year (exemptions are provided for under law, call for more information).
Section 3313.671 of the Ohio Revised Code states that students who do not provide documentation of this immunization will be excluded from school on the 15th day after entrance, until proof is provided.

--Office Item Drop Offs
We ask that you limit dropping items off during the day as much as you can. It is understood that students may forget things at times, but please minimize the amount of drop offs each day.
When an item is dropped off, students will pick up these items at lunchtime or after school. Students who are aware that an item is being dropped off can go at this time to the main office to retrieve the item. Our goal is to minimize classroom interruptions, so please be sure students come down at these times.
If the item is needed for their classroom learning (i.e. project, computer, etc...) we will be sure to call the student immediately so they have this item.

"Here Comes The Bus" is an app for SCS families to track busing information and routes for their student(s), as well as real-time notifications.
The app and complementary website (www.herecomesthebus.com) - available on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, or personal computer - enables parents to see the location of their child’s school bus on its daily route.
Download the "Here Comes the Bus" app to monitor daily transportation information. Families that utilized the app last year will need to delete last year’s student information and add their current year information in order to receive the latest routing details and updates.
