Principal MessagešŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ« Principal MessagešŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ«

Dear Barron Families,

Thank you for your continued support! Our Pioneers are thriving because of the encouragement they receive both at home and at school. We have accomplished so much this year, and as we enter the last 6 weeks of school, we are excitedly planning our celebrations.

I want to extend a special thank you to parents for bringing your child to school every day. Our attendance percentage is increasing, and your commitment plays a vital role in our students' success. Let's continue to work on improving attendance on Fridays!

I would also like to take a moment to acknowledge our dedicated teachers and campus staff, who provide invaluable service to our students, families, and school community every day. Next week, we celebrate our teachers; let's show them how much we appreciate everything they do to encourage and empower our Pioneers to thrive!

This school year, Barron Pioneers have had numerous opportunities, including daily participation in tier 1 instruction with access to our district's curriculum and instructional materials. This weekend, we are proud to have 5 students participating at the district level in the Science Fair!

Our students have also gained confidence as team players through intramural sports. Robotics was reintroduced this year, allowing students to compete through their practice and knowledge. Additionally, our identified GT students have been working on a grand project to present to families during our S.T.R.E.A.M. Night on May 21st.

Our 5th graders are preparing for their orchestra concert, and some band members will be competing this May. Teachers are also getting students ready for the U.I.L. competition this weekend at Hornedo MS. We wish them luck and are incredibly proud of their hard work and confidence as they represent Barron.

We are in the process of registration for the 2025-26 school and I ask all families to please complete online registration for your child(ren). We have about 100 completed registrations and would like to be at 100% by May 30th. Ms. Del Real and our Registration Care team are available daily for support and our next Saturday rally will take place on the 17th of May for additional support.

We have so much to celebrate, as our school has achieved so much this year! As we await our scores, we are optimistic that Barron will make significant strides through our strategic planning in instruction.

Thank you once again for your support!

Warm regards,
Mrs. Vasquez

A few children have been recommended to be a Student Ambassador for our campus. The elementary Student Ambassador Program (SAP) is designed to promote leadership, friendship, and build character. Student Ambassadors help transitioning students to "fit in" by helping them get accustomed to the policies and procedures of Barron and help them make friends. Additionally, they assist with school events & community events as needed throughout the year. With such responsibility and a better understanding of the program needs we are only asking students 3rd-5th grade who are truly committed to take the time on filling out the application form.

Please keep in mind we will be picking the top 20 - 25 students so we may work better as a team to provide the best experience for our Student Ambassadors.

All students will attend Student Ambassador Training at the beginning of the new school year (Exact date TBD). Please help your child complete the application forms:

  1. Application Form

  2. 3-4 Teacher/Staff/ Community Referrals

  3. Student Ambassador Contract

We are asking all students interested in joining our Student Ambassador Program to get all paperwork in by May 21st 2025 for review, any applications received later might have a delayed response.

Please feel free to e-mail, message us on rooms, or call with any questions you might have.

Thank you for your support!

PIE Unit for 2025-2026! PIE Unit for 2025-2026!

Background of Partnership In Education Program:

On October 3, 1983, President Ronald Reagan designated 1983-84 as the Year of Partnerships in Education. In his Proclamation, he challenged all Americans to join together to make a commitment to the excellence and quality of education offered to all. In the spirit of community interest, educational development and mutual growth, the El Paso area school districts joined hands with the military reservation at Fort Bliss to establish El Paso’s first official ā€œPartnership in Education.ā€ This partnership commenced in the 1985-86 school year, involving the formation of a Partnership between Fort Bliss and one or more schools. In 2012, these partnerships expanded to include schools in Gadsden, NM, and continues to evolve to ensure Fort Bliss effectively leverages its resources to positively impact academic achievement.

Fort Bliss, the largest contingent involved in the Volunteer and Partners in Education Program, has a district-wide Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the El Paso School Districts. The primary goal of the MOU is to improve the quality of education through Soldier involvement, enhance community relations between the installation and the El Paso area, provide role models for students, and improve the quality of education for military family members.

Overlook of PIE Program

The Partners in Education Program (PIE) is a project to support school programs. The PIE Program has been active on Fort Bliss for the past thirty-four years.

Military Leadership redesigned the program so that Soldiers would be utilized to their maximum potential, thereby optimizing opportunities for educational enrichment and academic success for the students. Fort Bliss Soldiers have much to offer our local schools and their efforts go far in contributing to educational excellence for our children. Their dedication is greatly appreciated in making this program the success that it is.

Partnership Activity Ideas:

How can the military help our school?

Fort Bliss Soldiers will serve as volunteers, mentors, tutors, and role models. The following are a few suggestions for school support:

  • Participation in Red Ribbon Week

  • Field trips to Fort Bliss post facilities

  • Career Awareness involvement with career-focused activities

  • Participate in campus/district Science Fairs, STEM, and STEAM

  • Celebrity Readers

  • Support Big Brother/Big Sister Program by being a mentor

  • Support Academic Improvement Workshops (Parent Workshops)

  • Support Make a Difference Day (in support of campus and

    community events)
