Hi CPS Families,

Our highlight this week was Fire Safety Day here at CPS! Congratulations to Eleanor W who was the winner of the poster contest and rode to school in a fire truck! 2nd place was Ysabella O, 3rd place Reeslyn P, and 4th place was Kaylee F. Congrats to all of the 3rd graders who made posters for the theme "Charging into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home." Please take a look at our photos from today's events. Thank you to all of our firefighters for volunteering their time today and teaching the importance of fire safety.

Parent-teacher conference links are part of this Dragon News and please take the time to sign up for a time slot. This is a great opportunity for teachers to connect with parents and families. Thank you so much!

Our PJ's 4 a Purpose will be on October 31st and we are collecting items for the China Community Food Pantry already! Thank you to the families who have brought in donations and our purpose is to help out families who access our local food pantry. Staff and students are encouraged to wear their PJ's to school for the day.

For our families and their students who eat breakfast in the morning - Our breakfast time is from 7:30 - 7:55. That is when we have a teacher on duty in the Dragon's Nest Cafe. Students need time to eat and it would be helpful if drop off at school happens no later than 7:45. This allows time for the student to eat and get to their classroom and start their day and to ensure they aren't marked absent or tardy. Thank you so much for your assistance with this.

If your student will be tardy, absent or dismissed early please update our administrative assistant, Mae Slevinsky by calling 207-445-1550 or emailing (mslevinsky@rsu18.org). It's also helpful if emails are directed to your student's teacher.

Please be sure to communicate any changes for end of day dismissal plans prior to 2:00pm so students can be sure to receive their notes.

The 46th Annual China Maine Craft Show is on November 8th! Each year students from China Primary donate items for themed baskets that are raffled off at the craft show! All proceeds are used to support classroom enrichment materials and activities, teacher grants and field trips through the China Schools PTO. Each grade is assigned a basket & theme!

Items are due by November 5th! See the flyer below for details!

Please DO NOT send any medications including inhalers and epipens in with your child.

ALL medications must be brought to school by an adult and handed off to the nurse (or appropriate staff if the nurse is unavailable).

The RSU 18 Lifestyles wellness team is excited to announce its annual FREE community movie night which will be held this year on Friday, November 14 at 6pm. This year's movie is "Lilo & Stitch 2." We are inviting students to submit Lilo/Stitch or tropical themed artwork that will be displayed in the entrance of the PAC.
