The K12 Zone Report
May 21st

π¨ We Need Your Help: Parental Consent Required Before June 2nd!
On June 2nd, schools will be opted into the National K12 Zones. This means students across the country will have access to the National Zone platform β but students who are 12 and under will need verified parental consent first.
Unfortunately, the current consent process is still required for summer access. A more streamlined system is coming next school year, but in the meantime, we need your help.
π― Why this matters:
If legal guardians havenβt completed the consent process by June 2nd, students under 13 wonβt be able to access the National Zone β and schools may be overwhelmed with emails and calls.
β What you can do:
Please help us spread the word to Learning Coaches now so they can take action before the summer launch. Below, youβll find everything you need:
-
π Flyers to send or post
-
β A helpful FAQ document
-
ποΈ A PowerPoint walkthrough for families

𧩠The Silent Scavenger Hunt Zone Is Now LIVE!
π Itβs here! The brand-new Silent Scavenger Hunt Zone is officially live β and it's already turning heads in the National Zones.
This immersive world features three unique silent scavenger hunts, all hidden inside one dynamic zone. Students must explore carefully, think critically, and uncover all three hunts as they go.
π No talking. No clues. Just curiosity.
Itβs the ultimate challenge β and itβs now available to explore!
π Students who complete the hunt may unlock exclusive emotes (if they havenβt already)!
π How to access:
-
Portals have been added to all National Zones.
-
Youβll also find the portal in the Scene Library if your school would like to add it to your own zone.
Let the silent searching begin!
π Whatβs New in the K12 Zone!
π Silent Mode Just Got Smarter
Weβve made a small but impactful update to Silent Mode! Now, when teachers or admins enter a zone where Silent Mode is turned on, the confirmation box to turn it off will be pre-checked by default.
This means you can return to an interactive environment more quickly β no extra click needed. Itβs a tiny change that makes a big difference for smoother transitions.
π₯ Watch the quick explainer below to see it in action!
π₯ New Video Backgrounds Available
Students now have access to new video backgrounds to personalize their K12 Zone experience!
They can select a background before entering the Zone or change it anytime inside by clicking the video settings icon. These fun new options add even more flair and personality to their time in the Zone.
π₯ Preview the background options in the demo video below!
π₯ Final Call: Student Reel Competition Closes This Week!
Weβre down to the wire β this is the last chance for students to enter the K12 Zone Student Video Challenge and win big!
Encourage your students to submit a short (60-second), vertical video answering the question:
βWhat do YOU love about the K12 Zone?β
Whether itβs the games, the emotes, the social spaces, or the fun of learning together β we want to hear it in their words.
π
Submissions due: May 23
π³οΈ Public voting: May 26β30
π Prizes: One $250 winner per grade band
π Winning videos will be featured across the K12 community!
This is a great chance for students to reflect, celebrate, and express themselves β and your encouragement could make all the difference.
