Reflex Green Light Award
We have been using a Math program called Reflex Math. It is a web-based program that helps students learn and master basic math facts through games. A green light is given to a student who is successful at fulfilling a certain number of correct math problems. We had a competition to see which class could earn the most green lights (on average). The class with the highest average for the entire month earns the Green Light Trophy.
Congratulations to Miss Hartzler's class for winning November's Challenge. Who will be our December challenge winner?
Incentive Trip to the Circus
The Middle School Behavior Incentive Trip took them to The Shriner's Circus in Independence. They were able to participate in some of the hands on activities and of course, enjoy some cotton candy! we love to celebrate the good choices of our students!
Fifth Grade Inventor's Fair
Recently our 5th graders hosted an Inventor's Fair as a part of their STEAM class. Each student created an item that solves a problem. The students had to present in front of three "sharks' and then also presented to the student body. Through a series of voting it was narrowed down to the top 8 inventions. These 8 students presented to Mrs. Vaughn who then chose three who will present at the December Board Meeting. The students did FANTASTIC with both their presentations and their inventions. Shout out to Mrs. Schroeder for guiding their learning and bringing out the very best in each of our students.
Pumpkins on Parade.
Our annual Kindergarten Parade of Pumpkins was a success. Each Kindergartener created a pumpkin based on a book character! This class did an awesome job!
November Kindness Challenge
All throughout the month of November our students completed kindness challenges. They worked to demonstrate kindness in a variety of ways. As November came to an end, we encouraged our students to keep spreading kindness and that sharing kindness doesn’t stop here. They can keep it going at home by saying “thank you,” helping around the house, asking someone how their day is and sharing kind words with family and friends.
Miss Hartzler's second grade class wrote thank you notes to our city clerk, Miss Shanon and to Mayor Blalock and got to hand deliver their notes!
Our ECC wrote a thank you poster for Ms. RC!
