How Many Ten Frames?

Kindergarteners placed a pile of unifix cubes on the rug and had to estimate how many ten frames they would fill with the cubes. Can you believe there were exactly 100 cubes?

First Grade Reading Response

Our first graders are learning how to answer a reading comprehension question by restating the question and then finding the answer in the text like a detective.

Principal Update 4/29/24

Good Morning Memorial Families,

Well, we have reached the final full month of school. Hopefully the beautiful weather continues. Our students have been enjoying the outdoor learning spaces around the school campus, and I am reminded of just how fortunate that we are to have the parent support to provide us with areas like our outdoor classroom and our front lawn workspaces. Each of you who have contributed to fundraising over the past few years has been a part of making the outdoor spaces come alive, funding the enrichment and field trip opportunities, and even helping our school replace our dinosaur of a laminating machine. I know the PTO is gearing up for several more large projects over the next year and so keep your eye out for opportunities to contribute and make our school even better.

We will hold our May All School Meeting on Friday. This month, we will learn more about the Global Citizen Portrait of a Learner Superhero. Global Citizen has a keen interest in building relationships with others and learning about other people's needs. She cares about helping and supporting the community both near and far. We will be reading Chris Van Allsburg's Just a Dream and thinking about ways that we can show our Global Citizen superpower- even at a young age.

Our Lost and Found is overflowing with winter coats, sweatshirts, etc. We will have the racks out to take a look through at Specialist Night on May 30th, but please ask your child to take a look as well- especially if you know that you are missing something.

Looking forward to a fabulous week ahead!

Warmly,

Wendy

School Hours

Our school hours are 8:45am-3:15pm. Drop off begins at 8:45 and students who arrive after 9:00am are considered tardy. We will begin dismissal right around 3:15pm.

Due to the hectic nature of the late afternoon, we will no longer be allowing parent dismissals from the main office after 2:45pm. If your child has an appointment, please plan to dismiss him/her earlier, or make use of our pick up line at 3:15pm. Thank you for understanding.
