Congratulations
Congratulations to our very own Ms. Ashley Arthur!
We have been so blessed to have her as an Assistant Principal for the past 4 years but are also extremely proud of this next step for her and Daisy Elementary!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The Horry County Board of Education named Ashley Arthur the new principal at Daisy Elementary School, beginning the 2025-2026 school year. Ashley Arthur is currently an assistant principal at Ten Oaks Middle School and will begin her new position on July 1, 2025.
Congratulations to our TOMS Staff Member of the Week Mrs. Linda Sparkman! She was nominated by Mrs. Jenny Scarbro.
Mrs. Sparkman is a Cafeteria Operator at TOMS and this is her 8th year with us!
My favorite memory of middle school was doing fun things together, making new friends and getting to know them.
My advice to my Middle School self would be... to tell myself to always listen, to be attentive to adults who are trying to guide me even if I don't like what they're trying to tell me. Also, because I was so shy, I would tell myself that what looks like the end of the world now will not even matter in a very short time and will definitely not matter when you're an adult.
Please help us welcome the newest 2025/2026 Staff Member to Ten Oaks Middle, Mr. Jeffrey Butterfield! Mr. Butterfield will be joining our Special Education Department next year!
**********************************************
Mr. Jeffrey Butterfield has been teaching middle school special education math for the past 13 years. Prior to his career in education, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Alongside teaching, he’s spent the last four years coaching cross country, helping students build both confidence and endurance.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Butterfield enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and their 8-year-old daughter. He also plays bass guitar and is always up for a good laugh—he believes learning works best when it’s engaging and fun. His classroom is a place where effort, humor, and growth go hand in hand.
Celebrating Educators with Gratitude: A Heartwarming Tribute
We love a good shout-out! Each year, Campbell Covington & Icenhour Orthodontics encourages their patients to write letters of gratitude about their favorite teachers and what makes them so special. Today, TOMS Students Layla Brooks and Veronica Brooks took the time to read their heartfelt letters to their teachers—Mrs. Jessica McKever and Mrs. Kim Franey.
We love when our students take the time to recognize these outstanding educators and share what they mean to them.
TOMS 8th Grade Students are had a fantastic evening at their 8th Grade Dance!

TOMS Orchestra Spring Concert & Awards Night
The TOMS Orchestra hosted our Spring Concert and Awards Night — and what a wonderful evening it was! The night was filled with incredible performances and meaningful celebrations of a truly fantastic year of music-making and growth.
A special highlight of the evening was welcoming back former Ten Oaks Middle School students, who returned to join us on stage for the final number, uniting students from grades 6–12 and filled the gymnasium with a magnificent sound, creating an unforgettable and emotional moment for all.
Mr. Hammer would like to congratulate all of our amazing TOMS Orchestra students for their dedication and achievements this year. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to the Ten Oaks staff and families for their continued support of our Fine Arts programs — we couldn’t do it without you!
🎶 TOMS Band Spring Concert & Awards Night 🎶
What a spectacular evening! The TOMS Band hosted our annual Spring Concert and Awards Night, and it was truly a night to remember. The gymnasium came alive with beautiful music, heartfelt moments, and a celebration of an incredible year of growth, dedication, and artistry.
From powerful performances to well-deserved recognitions, our students made us all proud — filling the room with emotion and the magnificent sound of their hard work and passion.
🎺 Mr. Pope extends his warmest congratulations to all of our talented TOMS Band students for an outstanding year. Your commitment and creativity continue to inspire us all.
A huge THANK YOU to our amazing Ten Oaks staff and families — your support means the world to us and makes everything we do possible. 💙
