April Review
The Museum of the American Revolution
On Friday, April 17th, the eighth grade class were able to take a trip to Philadelphia in connection with the American Revolution Unit explored in Social Studies class. Students attended the Museum of the American Revolution, which chronicled the Revolutionary period and exposed students to interesting interpretive exhibits as well as unique artifacts. During their guided tour students interacted with a professional tour guide, which served as an excellent culminating experience for their study of the American Revolution and demonstrated how hard the students worked in studying these crucial events. Thanks for a great trip!
What is happening in Spanish 1?
Spanish 1 students practiced classroom item vocabulary and direct object pronouns (lo,la, los, las) by playing a customized Go Fish (Vete a Pescar) game. Students used phrases like ¿Tienes el lápiz? and Sí, lo tengo or No, no lo tengo to make sets of four cards, reinforcing singular/plural and gender agreement.
On May 5th, they will be having salsa contests in all of their classes! Who can make the best salsa for Cinco de Mayo?
PSSA Days
Thank you to all students that worked hard on the English Language Arts PSSA and Mathematics PSSA the last weeks of April. Eighth graders will continue this month with the Science PSSA on the 5th & 6th. Make sure to get a good nights sleep and eat a healthy, savory breakfast. Continue to work hard, it does not go unnoticed.
Lunch on the Hill
On Monday, April 13th, North students donated $1.00 to the Special Olympics and were able to eat "lunch on the hill" with their friends and teachers. The weather was beautiful! The company even more so!
Spring Chorus Concert
This year’s Spring Chorus Concert took place on Thursday, April 16, and featured more than 150 talented singers from sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. The concert was led by Mr. Iannuzzi, a former North Middle School student and a Pennridge graduate. He recently completed his degree in music education at Bloomsburg University, and the spring concert was his first formal concert as a teacher and director.
A big thank-you to our teachers, student performers, and families and friends who helped make this evening a success!
Minute-to-Win-It!
The last day before Spring Break was organized by our Climate Committee. Students moved as a grade level through three separate events--Trivia in the cafe, gym activities, and a screening of Frozen (our Spring Musical) in the auditorium. Then, all grade levels and teachers funneled into the gym for a spirited game of Minute-to-Win-It, where our Phoenix Team took the title! It was a great way to kick off Spring Break.
TAKES PRIDE
Each month the teachers look to recognize students that exemplify various character traits. In April we honored students that exemplified Initiative. The students also nominated a teacher for April. The honorees were ...
-
Luke Adams
Kaitlyn Lemus
- Jackson Carr
- Kayden Hudson
- Logan Matajasik
- Cali Cochran
And the teachers recognized by the students was ... Mr. Josiah Smith, Special Education Math! Congratulations to all!
World Language Honor Society
Congratulations to the 137 new members of the Pennridge High School World Language Honor Society who were officially inducted on Thursday, April 9, 2026. The induction ceremony honors students who have challenged themselves to communicate beyond a single language and have committed to cultural appreciation.
For incoming 9th graders, this society represents a prestigious goal to aim for during your high school career. Induction recognizes students who show a genuine interest in language and culture. Being part of this society is not just an award; it is an invitation to continue seeking authentic connections and understanding in an interconnected world.
Membership provides more than just a resume boost; it offers enrichment beyond the classroom: Future Field Trips, Guest Speakers: Special presentations on topics of interest to language learners.
The next induction ceremony for eligible students is scheduled for the 2027–2028 academic year.
If you are interested in joining or have questions about meeting the requirements, please visit the World Language department at the Pennridge High School to speak with the following advisors: Sra. Coppolino (Spanish) Frau Goodrich (German).

North News
Interview Learning Opportunity for 8th Grade Students
On May 27th, 8th grade health classes will be conducting mock interviews with students from the high school. Here is a copy of Kathy’s letter to parents from the fall. I changed the date to the spring.
As part of our 8th grade curriculum, students are currently learning about Healthy and Effective Communication. To help them apply these skills in a real-world context, we are excited to announce an upcoming project.
On May 27th, students will participate in a mock job interview experience at North. Each student will interview for one of three positions:
- Host/Hostess at The Perk
- Cashier at Target
- Stocking shelves/Bagging at Giant Food Store
Fifteen high school students will join us to serve as interviewers. Each interview will last approximately 10 minutes. We are asking students to come to school dressed in “business casual” attire.
In preparation, our 8th graders are busy researching the companies, practicing potential interview questions, and developing thoughtful questions they can ask their interviewers. This project is designed to strengthen communication skills, build confidence, and give students a taste of professional interactions they may encounter in the future.
We are looking forward to this engaging and valuable learning experience for our students.
Sixth Grade UBCTS Visit
On Friday, May 8th, all 6th-grade North students will travel to the Upper Bucks County Technical School (UBCTS) from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The purpose of this trip is for students to learn more about the programs the tech school offers to high school students. Although sixth graders still have a few years until high school, we want our students to continue to explore career and college options within the middle school curriculum. Please note, students must wear long pants and closed toe shoes while on the trip.
Orchestra News
The North Middle School Orchestra will present their annual Spring Orchestra Concert this May. You are invited to the concert on May 6th at North, 7:00PM. The Middle School Orchestra Concert is comprised of two Orchestras, the 6th Grade and 7th/8th Grade Orchestras. The Orchestra Concert will also include 3rd Grade and 4th/5th Grade Orchestras from our two elementary schools, Bedminster and Deibler.
Our first-year students, 3rd Graders will perform folk tunes that will bring memories from childhood. Our 4th and 5th Grade orchestra will perform pieces that include Royal Promenade, Subatomic, and The Russian Music Box. The 6th grade orchestra will perform Revenge of the Dust Bunnies, Moonlit Skies, and Royal March of the Lion. Each piece demonstrates a different musical technique. One piece even includes a vacuum cleaner to be used during the song!
The 7th and 8th Grade orchestra will perform Turbulence, How to Train Your Dragon, and 1812 Overture. Each piece showcases a different genre of music, with the grand finale being the famous 1812 Overture theme that many audience members will recognize!
We hope you are able to come and enjoy the Spring String Orchestra Concert!
Seventh Grade Service Project
On May 15th, the Hydra Team will be participating in a service project at the cemetery in Perkasie for Memorial Day as well as cleaning North's school grounds in anticipation of our end of the year events. The rain date (pending forecasts ahead of time) is Monday, May 18th.
Course Placements for Next Year
The PowerSchool portal will open from May 15 to May 22 for parents of sixth & seventh grade teachers to see their course placements for next year. These placements are derived from a combination of data points collected throughout their middle school careers as well as teacher discussions. Placements are not taken lightly and a ton of thought and consideration go into the process. If you have concerns regarding your student's course schedule, please reach out to the current teacher of the content where the placement decision originated. If you are still concerned after speaking with the teacher, please reach out to their counselor next.
Fifth Grade Visitation
On May 18th and May 21st, North Middle School will welcome our in-coming sixth grade students from Bedminster, Deibler, Seyler, Grasse, and Guth! This will be a time for the students to watch a video made by our current students that will give them the insider look at North Middle School. Fifth graders will also tour the building by faces that probably look familiar to them as current 6th graders from their home buildings will be their tour guides. We look forward to welcoming and meeting our future students!
