Hello Barrett Families!

Congratulations to Miss Jean's class (Room 208) for being the top selling classroom for our chocolate fundraiser!! Thank you to everyone who sold chocolate and participated in our fundraiser! Since we reached our goal, Miss Marybeth will be pied in the face on Friday, November 7th :) Our school wide pajama and dance party will also be that day!

We will be sending home information in early November about ordering Barrett Russell spirit wear! Please be sure to check your child's folder daily! Also, we will be doing a fall Scholastic book fair during the week of Parent Teacher Conferences!

Our Raising a Reader program started last week! Your child should have come home with a red bag full of books. These books should go home on Thursdays and be returned on Mondays. Each child will get a new set of books each Thursday. Please take a few moments each day to read with your child, look at the pictures, talk about what they see in the books, etc. More information will be coming regarding a family engagement event!

For our World of Wonders curriculum, we are focusing on Unit 2 - Friendship! The focus questions that students will be working on in class are: What can we do with our friends? and why are rules important? For our Character Strong curriculum, students will be focusing on Gratitude.

As the holidays are fast approaching, we would like to make sure that our families are supported and have what they need. Information regarding Thanksgiving and Christmas went home with your child last Friday. Please reach out to our School Adjustment Counselor, Ms. Tricia Thomas if you need assistance.

Our family conferences are coming up on November 20th and 21st! Sign up information will be going out this week. We will be doing a book fair the week of conferences and will also be doing raffles. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions regarding signing up for a conference time.
