Social Studies - Teresa Groene

As a final project, students are creating a poster to illustrate the prompt, “In America, people____.” Statements may say things like:

Are Open minded thinkers

Stand up to adversity and become stronger

Are prepared to fight for what’s important

Question the way things are and make things better.

Love and accept diversity

They have shown some great thinking and incorporated examples from the history we learned. This project will be due Tuesday.

Finally, thank you for a great year. You should be proud of your kids--they have grown so much! And thank you for all your help with things like field trips, classroom supplies, and especially for all the kindness and support I’ve gotten from you this year. Please let me know if you have questions as we finish up the year.

Thank you for your support throughout this school year—it has been a pleasure working with your students!

With just one week remaining, we’ll be wrapping up the year by watching The Hunger Games movie as a conclusion to our Dystopian Unit. The film is rated PG-13. While most students are 13, a few are not. If you prefer that your student not watch the movie, please contact me via email or ParentSquare. I will provide an alternate activity for them.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful summer!

We’ve made it to the end of the school year!! (Yay :D)

To end the year we will work on our final project for the semester. The Ocean Life Project gives students the opportunity to scale animals in the ocean life and show off their drawing skills! We will begin the project Monday, May 19 and it will be due Wednesday, May 21.

Last day to turn in any missing work is Wednesday, May 21. Any work not completed by that date will not be accepted. All students have been notified about the deadline and will be reminded on Monday, May 19.

Lastly, I have decided to take a leap and move to 8th Grade Math & Algebra 1 next year! Because of this, I may have the opportunity to work with your student once again :D

As always, if you have additional questions, please let me know!
