Welcome Back from Principal Jennings Welcome Back from Principal Jennings

Hello Garfield Families,

Thank you to everyone who came to our Back-to-School Night last night! We are so excited to begin the new school year. Seeing the smiles on our students' faces as they explored their classrooms, met their teachers, and began making new friends was a wonderful reminder of just how special the start of a school year can be.

I want you to know that our staff has been working hard, preparing and planning to support your child's growth and success. At Garfield, our mission is to:

Help every student thrive by creating a strong sense of belonging, providing meaningful and inclusive learning experiences, and supporting all students in meeting high expectations.

This mission is brought to life every day in the halls and classrooms of Garfield. We care deeply about your child and look forward to partnering with you to support their growth.

I know that the developmental journey can sometimes be a bumpy one. I encourage you to communicate early and often about your child's strengths, needs, and experiences. Your child's teacher cares and wants to hear from you.

Thank you for trusting us with your child. We are excited to create meaningful learning opportunities and help our Tigers learn, grow, and thrive throughout the year!

Sincerely,

Eric Jennings
Principal

There is no supervision before 9:00 am so there are no students allowed on campus until 9:00 am. Teachers arrive to bring students to classrooms at 9:10 am so that learning begins at 9:15 am in our classrooms.

If you are unable to join us for Back-to-School night and need school supplies please come to the office and we will make sure you get all you need.

Backpacks and school supplies have been generously donated to Garfield from the Everett Public Schools Foundation Stuff the Bus events so that we may provide all of our students with the supplies they need. We are so grateful to be able to provide for our Tigers so they launch the school year ready to go. Thank you EPSF!

Student Drop off and Pick up Procedure Student Drop off and Pick up Procedure

To ensure safety and efficiency during drop-off and pick-up, please follow these guidelines:

  • Drop-Off: Stay in your vehicle. Have your child exit on the curbside (passenger side/right side) for safety.
  • Pick-Up: Stay in your vehicle. Once you reach the pick-up zone, we will call your child to your car. They will enter on the curbside for safety.

If you need to get out of your car, please park in a designated parking area. Parking is available in the school parking lot or along adjacent streets (including 23rd adjacent to the school parking lot). Do not park in the carline including along the fence on 23rd or in the bus zone on Pine Street. All other areas are open for street parking.

Due to the Community Eligibility Provision program we are once again able to offer free breakfast to all students at Garfield. We will be serving breakfast in the classrooms for grades K-3 and in our cafeteria for grades 4-5. All students will start their morning with a breakfast and some morning mindset work. It is a great chance to check-in with their teachers, each other and start the day strong!
