What's with the Purple Cow!?
We Need Your Help
It would also be helpful to talk with your child about times when a student will lock the stall doors and crawl under the door, leaving it locked for the next person needing to use the stall.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found box is overflowing. We will be donating any items in the lost and found bin at the end of the month.
If you think your child may have lost an item, please check out the box which is located in the main foyer.
PTA Meeting
Hope to see many of you at our October 20th PTA meeting. The meeting starts at 7 pm and will be in-person.
Cherry Hill Special Education PTA will be delivering a presentation.
Halloween Party
Please note that we will not have food at our Halloween parties. Students can bring a snack from home to eat during the party.
Please refer to the Halloween message in the "In Case You Missed It" section for additional details.
Halloween Parade and Party
October 2022
Dear ARK Families,
The following procedures will be in effect for the Halloween Day parade on Monday, October 31. The parade will begin promptly at 2:00 PM.
Students will wear their costumes to school. Staff and PTA volunteers will NOT be able to assist students to change into costumes during the school day.
- If there is inclement weather the parade will be cancelled and the party will begin at 2:30 pm.
- Students will have lunch during their regularly scheduled time.
Classroom parties will begin at 2:30 PM and end at 3:20 PM.
Only assigned room parents will be permitted into the classrooms for the parties. Unfortunately, no exceptions regarding families or visitors attending the classroom parties can be made on this day.
Costumes should be comfortable and appropriate for a school setting - no portrayal of violence or “prop” weapons are permitted. Remember that we have children as young as five in our building and we want to ensure that no one is frightened by a costume.
Sincerely,
Mr. Park
Knight Red Ribbon Week
October 2022
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
WE will celebrate Red Ribbon Week during the week of October 24th. Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program. Red Ribbon week started after the death of a drug enforcement agent in 1985. After his death, people started wearing red ribbons to honor his sacrifice. Today, millions of people celebrate Red Ribbon Week by wearing red ribbons, participating in community anti-drug events, and pledging to live drug free lives. WE encourage you to discuss the importance of a drug free life and making responsible choices with your children. Different theme days are planned during Red Ribbon Week.
Monday, October 24 - School closed for Diwali
Tuesday, October 25 - Living Drug-Free is No Sweat - Wear your sweats or workout clothes to show you are committed to making healthy choices for your body.
Wednesday, October 26 - Wear Red Day - Wear red to show your Red Ribbon Week spirit.
Thursday, October 27 - Put a Cap on Drugs Day - Wear your favorite hat or a crazy hat to show you have your “thinking caps” on to make responsible choices.
Friday, October 28 - Dreaming of a Drug-Free Future - Wear your pajamas to show you are committed to being drug-free.
Some other fun activities you may choose to do are:
Tie red ribbons around the trees in your yard
Plant red tulip bulbs in your garden to plant a promise for a drug-free future
Schedule time for family dinners - Did you know that kids who eat dinner with their families are less likely to use drugs and alcohol?
