Message from the Principal

Hello Eagle Families,

Last call for our Parent Fall 2020 Midpoint Survey. If you have not already completed it, please do so. We want to hear from you and it is due TODAY (11/20/20)! As we continue to navigate this unprecedented school year, we would like your feedback and insight on your child's experience so far this Fall.

For IN-PERSON students, starting Monday, 11/30/20, the day after Thanksgiving break, we will use the new Frontline Health screener app and we need you to sign up for the app NOW to use for our daily screener. We have provided step-by-step directions below so that we may start using the app (instead of the Google form). Some of you have already signed up for your child at one of the other campuses, so you are good to go and ready to start using the app for your CRMS student, too!

We wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope everyone has time to take a break and enjoy some downtime! And remember that when we return on Monday, November 30th, it will be a B day.

Thank you for your continued support of Canyon Ridge Middle School. I am so thankful to be part of the CRMS community!

Go Eagles!

Mrs. Wendy Sturdevant

Health Screener App - starting soon at CRMS!

**Please note that soon we will no longer be using the Student Google Form due to a district-wide switch to this new screener app.**

Leander ISD has licensed a NEW Frontline Health Portal to provide you with a convenient way to complete your child’s COVID-19 self-screen prior to arriving at school every day. You may download the Frontline App, or use the attached QR Code to register and login to your portal.

  • Please review the directions below for setting up your portal to register and create a Frontline account. You may do this through the Frontline Health Portal app or through the web address, Click Here.

(It is recommended you use a desktop computer to register, once registered the Frontline Health App and QR code will work with ease)

  • Use the primary email that you provided to the district and confirm the Portal Terms of Use.

  • You will receive an email with a temporary password and a link to confirm your account.

  • You will need your child’s Student ID # to add your child to the account

Important Note: All children in a family can be added to the same exact account. As well as families that have multiple homes, both parents can create an account for their child with their own email.

***DO NOT REGISTER IF YOUR CHILD IS STILL VIRTUAL, THIS IS ONLY FOR IN-PERSON STUDENTS***

Maintain the social distancing, wear your mask, wash your hands & sanitize!

Friendly CRMS math reminder as Thanksgiving break nears. We encourage our families and staff to do their part to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

@AusPublicHealth is offering risk guidance for gatherings to help keep #1LISD healthy & safe. With the recent surge in COVID cases in central Texas, we're especially mindful of how the pandemic continues to affect our community and potentially our schools. Our most important goal is keeping our campuses open so that our students can learn and our families can thrive. We can't do it alone. Please do your part to celebrate safely during the holidays so that we can support and safeguard our teachers, students and students.

To minimize the spread of COVID-19 and ensure everyone has a safe and healthy holiday season, Austin Public Health is offering risk guidance for gatherings. En Espanol

Make-up Picture day! December 1st

If you were absent or missed school pictures, we will have make-up picture day on Tuesday, December 1st and this is your last chance to get your school photo done for the yearbook.

Virtual students:

We will again offer outside drive-up photos outside the gym in the bus lane all day. Sign up here for a time on December 1st for you to come take your picture.

In-Person students:

We will have pictures in the library for our in-person students to take their picture during lunch time on Tuesday, December 1st.

Students will wear a mask while waiting to take his or her picture, and then will be allowed to remove the mask briefly while at a safe distance to take the actual photo. We want to be certain that we have communicated our plans to photograph the students in-person AND the students who have chosen virtual learning. As in the past, in-school students will be photographed with adjustments for physical distancing and protective wear on the part of the photographers. (Photo Texas school photos plan for 2020-21 including safety protocols.)

Here is a Photo Texas Video of school photos plan outlining the process for outdoor photos. Parents will bring students to the school bus lane at their scheduled time. Safety protocols will remain the same for outdoor and indoor photos.

Parents, CRMS can use your help!

We are seeking substitutes for when we have teachers out. In particular, we are trying to fill one permanent substitute position on campus that will report to CRMS every day to help where needed. We are hoping to have it 5 days/week, but it can be split up--so if you can only commit to a couple of days each week, please let us know or get with a friend in the community and we can come up with a schedule. This is a PAID position hired through Leander ISD, but you would be assigned to stay in the neighborhood here at CRMS. If you are interested in helping, you can email Megan Prata at CRMS and we can get you more details.
