BFK CMAS Starts Monday!
Dear B. F. Kitchen Elementary Families,
In April, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will participate in the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments. These students will take English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. In addition, 5th graders will take Science. Testing will take place from April 6 through April 23, 2026. On the next page is BFK’s Testing Schedule with times. Students do not have school on April 24, 2026.
These state assessments, developed by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and teachers across the state, measure how well students are mastering Colorado’s academic standards. The results provide valuable information about your child’s progress and help our teachers refine instruction, strengthen supports, and plan for the upcoming school year. Just as important, participation ensures we have accurate information about how our school is serving all students and where we can continue to improve.
Your child’s participation is essential; when students take part in CMAS, the results more fully reflect the learning happening in our classrooms and help guide decisions about programs, resources, and supports that directly benefit our school community.
To support your child during testing:
Please prioritize attendance on testing days.
Avoid scheduling appointments between April 6 – 23 if possible.
Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep and arrives ready to do their best.
If your child must be absent, please contact the front office so we can arrange a make-up session.
Additional information, including a general state assessment schedule and frequently asked questions, is available on the Thompson School District website under Assessments of Learning. You may also explore resources from CDE through their Assessment website at https://ed.cde.state.co.us/assessment, including information about the role and purpose of state assessments and family guides to finding and understanding results.
We appreciate your partnership in supporting your child and our school community.
Please reach out with any questions about CMAS testing this year.
Thank You,
Jamie Zupparo

Annual Family check-In
The Annual Family Check-In is available on Parent Portal beginning March 2nd. A parent/guardian in the student’s primary household must review (and update as needed) the student’s household information, emergency contacts, health updates, and annual permission agreements.
Login to your Parent Portal account via the Infinite Campus Parent mobile application or by directly visiting this website address https://thompsonco.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/thompson.jsp
Click on “More” located on the bottom left side of the Campus Parent Portal Home Page.
Then click on the “Annual Family Check-In” link option.
A new display will appear to confirm the school years’ annual update to be completed, and the ‘Start’ button on the far right side of the screen.
By clicking ‘Start’ it will advance the dashboard to the students who are to be reviewed within the update, and you can click ‘Begin Registration’ to access the application. The application will open in another window. Follow the prompts to view and update information as needed.
Once you have completed the application, be sure to click ‘Submit’ and you will additionally receive an email confirming that your application was submitted. Note: If you close the application before completing it, you can return to the application following these same steps.
Troubleshooting Tips
Be sure you’re logged in to your Parent Portal account, not the student’s account.
If the student is in more than one household, the link will appear available on the Portal of a guardian in the primary household, as set up in the student database.
“Secondary” household parent/guardian can update their household data within Campus Parent Portal under the Family Members and Household links.
If you still do not see a link, contact your student’s school to verify household data and request additional help.
