26-27 SP Newsletter Coffee Night
September 9, 2026
Coffee Night will take place at Seely Place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:30–8:05 p.m. During the evening, you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, see classrooms, and hear the goals and expectations for the 2026–2027 school year. Coffee Night is for adults only. For more information on Coffee Night click here.
The night begins at 5:30 pm in the All Purpose Room (APR) for a brief welcome from building and district administration, the PTA, the Board of Education, the ESF and other speakers. From there, students will participate in three 35-minute sessions as follows:
For Coffee Night, please keep the following in mind:
Teachers will begin presentations promptly at the listed times.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to visit Specialists and Support Service Providers in their learning spaces for a meet-and-greet.
We will make an announcement to end each session.
The evening is not for individual conferences. Parent–teacher conferences will take place in December. If you’d like to discuss concerns prior to December, please email your child’s teacher.
This event is for parents/guardians only; please make childcare arrangements.
Coffee Night ends promptly at 8:05 p.m. so our custodial staff can prepare the building for the next school day.
An Update From Seely Place
How to Report an Absence at Seely Place
Attendance Reminder: If your child will be absent from school, please remember to notify us by 10:00 a.m. Absences should be entered in Infinite Campus, which is separate from Early Dismissal Manager. You may also email seelyattendance@edgemont.org if you have any difficulty accessing Infinite Campus. While you are always welcome to let your child’s teacher know as a courtesy, please be sure the absence is also reported through Infinite Campus or the attendance email.
For more information, please see this guide. If you need assistance setting up the app or accessing your codes, please contact Brent Kammerer at bkammerer@edgemont.org.
Evacuation and Lockdown Drills
Next week, we will conduct our first lockdown drill in the morning on Thursday, September 17. The Greenburgh Police Department will be participating in the drill with us. New York State requires that we complete 4 lockdown drills and 12 evacuation drills throughout the year, and we are committed to notifying families in advance of any planned drills. You can learn more about the different types of drills on our safety pamphlet that you can find here and that is attached to this email.
After School Supervision
We love that our students like to remain on the playgrounds and fields after school. Please remember that once students are dismissed from Seely Place, there should be a parent or guardian on school grounds to supervise this play.
School Picture Day
Please save the date for School Picture Day on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
