๐ A Wonderful First Nine Weeks! ๐ฆ๐
Fox Families,
What an incredible first nine weeks of school it has been! As we wrap up our first grading period and head into Fall Break, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to our amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. Together, we have created so many wonderful memories, celebrated successes, and continued building a school community where every Fox feels loved, valued, and supported.
Thank you, families, for your continued partnership, encouragement, and trust in us each day. We truly couldn't do this without you!
As we head into Fall Break, I hope your family enjoys some well-deserved time to slow down, relax, make memories, and enjoy time together. We look forward to welcoming our Foxes back refreshed and ready for another nine weeks of learning, growing, and foraging for success!
Wishing our entire Fox Family a safe, restful, and wonderful Fall Break! ๐๐

If screening results indicate that further evaluation is needed, you will be notified and encouraged to follow up with your child's medical provider. State mandated screenings include:
Vision & Hearing Screening for:
- Children who are 4 years old by September 1
- Students enrolled in an LCISD school for the first time
- Students in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades
- Students in all grade levels, as requested to support student health and learning
Acanthosis Nigricans Screening (Risk assessment for Type 2 Diabetes) for:
- Students in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades
Spinal Screening (Scoliosis) for:
- Female students in 5th grade
๐See to Succeed Program โ November
The See to Succeed program offers students an off-campus vision exam and eyeglasses for students with limited access to vision care. With a signed consent form, students can attend a free, chaperoned school field trip to a See to Succeed clinic. If your child is 6 years or older and may need eyeglasses, please contact Nurse Lynch for a registration form or to get more information. All registration forms must be completed and returned before Sept 30th.
๐ Important Health Reminders ๐ฉบ

Foxes Future Forward Mondays Are BACK! ๐๐ฆ

Whether theyโre representing a family favorite, a local university, or a school they hope to attend one day, we canโt wait to see our Foxes showing off their college spirit each Monday!
Letโs keep our Foxes looking Future Forward as we remind them that their dreams can take them anywhere! ๐โจ
๐ All In for Literacy: Fall Reading Challenge!
Get ready to READ, HAVE FUN, and EARN BADGES! The Lamar CISD All In for Literacy District Reading Challenge begins September 1 and runs through October 31.
Students are encouraged to read 30 minutes each day and log their reading minutes in Beanstack through ClassLink. For every 60 minutes read, students will earn a badge. Students who earn all 12 challenge badges by October 31 will be entered into the LCISD district raffle for a chance to win a prize!
๐ Letโs get our Fagert Foxes reading and logging those minutes!
Parent Information about Access to Libraries and Library Materials
In accordance with Lamar CISD Board Policy EFB (LOCAL), we are sharing the following letter with all parents and guardians. Please take a moment to review this important information.
Transportation Changes ๐๐
Fox Families, we know that occasionally your childโs afternoon transportation plans may need to change. To help us ensure every Fox gets home safely and the correct way, all transportation changes must be communicated to the front office no later than 2:15 p.m.
Please do not send transportation changes directly to your childโs teacher, as teachers may not see messages during the instructional day. The front office will make sure the change is communicated to the appropriate staff members and your child.
When possible, we encourage families to keep dismissal routines consistent. Knowing exactly how they are getting home each day helps our Foxes feel confident and allows our dismissal process to run safely and smoothly.
Thank you for partnering with us to make sure every Fox gets where they need to go safely! ๐ฆ๐
๐ SchoolCafรฉ: Managing Your Childโs Cafeteria Account
SchoolCafรฉ makes it easy for families to manage their childโs cafeteria account online! Parents can add funds, set up low-balance alerts, establish automatic payments, and review their childโs purchase history all in one convenient place.
Please review the attached SchoolCafรฉ for Parents Guide for step-by-step instructions on registering, adding your student, and managing payments.
๐ Lunch Visitors Welcome Beginning August 31!
We are excited to welcome our Fox families to join their children for lunch beginning August 31! We love having families visit our campus and appreciate your help in following these guidelines to keep lunchtime safe, enjoyable, and running smoothly for everyone.
Lunch Visitor Guidelines:
- Lunch visitors are welcome during their childโs regularly scheduled lunch time and are limited to two visitors per child, per day.
- Visitors may eat lunch with their child only. For the safety and privacy of all students, please do not share food with or invite other students to join you.
- All visitors must check in at the front office with a valid government-issued photo ID or passport and wear a visitor badge while on campus.
- At the conclusion of your childโs lunch period, please exit the building through the front office so students and staff can transition back to instruction.
Please note: During the last five minutes of lunch, students will return to their classroom-assigned lunch table so they can prepare for dismissal and leave the cafeteria with their class. We appreciate our lunch visitors helping us maintain a smooth transition back to learning!
You could add this line to the Please Note section:
Early Release Days: Lunch visitors will not be permitted on early release days due to adjustments to our regular lunch schedule.
A Few Helpful Reminders:
We highly encourage families to send lunches and snacks with students each morning. Lunch drop-offs and food delivery services are discouraged, as frequent deliveries can interrupt the instructional day.
Please send lunch and snack items that your child can open independently whenever possible. For the safety of our students, nut-based snacks are not permitted in classrooms.
Thank you for helping us make lunchtime a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our Foxes!
๐ ร LA CARTE SNACKS BEGIN SEPTEMBER 14
Beginning Monday, September 14, the Child Nutrition Department will offer ร la carte snacks for students to purchase during lunch.
A designated cafeteria line will be available for students who wish to purchase these additional snack items. Students must have their student ID badge to make a purchase.
Please remind your child to bring and wear their ID badge each day. If your child needs a replacement ID badge, one may be purchased in the front office for $5.
๐ Snack Time Reminder
To help us minimize classroom interruptions and keep our Foxes focused on learning, snacks will not be delivered to classrooms during the school day.
Because snack times vary by classroom and grade level, please make sure your child brings their snack with them to school each morning. This helps ensure they have what they need when their class takes a snack break without interrupting valuable instructional time.
Thank you for helping us keep our classrooms focused and ready for learning! ๐ฆ๐
Morning Drop-Off Reminders ๐๐ฆ
Fox Families, thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to make morning arrival safe, smooth, and efficient for everyone! With a large number of Foxes arriving by car each morning, every family plays an important role in keeping our car rider line moving.
Please help us by keeping these important reminders in mind:
All families dropping off students in the morning should use the car rider line. The parking lot is reserved for staff, campus visitors, and families who need to conduct business in the front office.
Please have your child ready to exit the vehicle when you reach the unloading area. Backpacks, lunchboxes, and other belongings should be ready to go.
Pull all the way forward until you reach a staff member or Safety Patrol student who will assist your child.
Students should exit from the passenger side of the vehicle only.
Parents should remain inside their vehicles at all times. Our team is ready to welcome your Fox and make sure they safely enter the building.
Once your child has exited, please continue driving forward to exit the front driveway.
Please keep your eyes forward and remain alert while driving. Cell phones should not be used while moving through the car rider line.
Doors open at 7:15 a.m., and the tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m. Our goal is to have every student safely unloaded and inside the building by 7:45, and we need your help to make that happen! Arriving with enough time to move through the line will help your child begin the school day on time and ready to learn.
Most importantly, once you drop off your Fox, weโve got them! ๐ Our staff and Safety Patrol students are ready each morning to greet, assist, and safely guide our students into the building.
Thank you for your patience, trust, and partnership as we work together to keep our Foxes safe and our mornings moving! ๐ฆ
๐ A Safe & Smooth Car Rider Line
๐ Car Rider Arrival
To help keep everyone safe and traffic moving smoothly:
Use the front of the school for all car rider drop-off.
Form two lanes at the entrance, then merge into one lane near the front of the building.
Pull all the way forward before stopping.
Students should be ready to exit quickly from the passenger side only.
Remain in your vehicle at all times.
No cell phone use in the car rider line.
When exiting, please turn right onto Easton Ramsey Way.
The rear parking lot is reserved for staff, buses, and ECSE, Pegasus, and SLC families.
๐ Car Rider Pick-Up
Pick-up takes place at the front of the school.
Stay in your vehicle and remain in the car rider line. Do not park and walk up unless approved by administration.
A car rider tag is required for every pick-up. Vehicles without a tag must park and show ID in the front office before a student will be released.
We use a number system for dismissal. Help your child learn their family number.
Keep your car tag visible until your child is safely in your vehicle.
Students will load from the passenger side only.
After your child is loaded, carefully move into the left lane if clear to exit.
Please turn right onto Easton Ramsey Way when leaving the parking lot.
Need a car rider tag? If you did not receive one at Meet the Teacher, you may pick it up after drop-off on the first day or anytime afterward in the front office.
๐ Bus Rider Information
๐ Bus Rider Information
Students must ride their assigned LCISD bus and get off at their designated stop.
Students may not ride home with another student.
Bus transportation is a privilege, and all students are expected to follow the LCISD Elementary Handbook.
Student bus ID tags will be issued on the first day of school. New students will receive theirs by the end of the first week.
๐ฆ Pre-K & Kindergarten Bus Riders
An authorized adult must be present at the bus stop with the required Blue Bus Card.
Students will only be released to individuals listed as authorized contacts in Skyward.
If no authorized adult (or approved older sibling with the Blue Bus Card) is present, the student will be returned to Fagert Elementary.
Reminder: Blue Bus Cards are available in the front office if you need a replacement.
๐ฑ Bus Routes & Tracking
Use Versatrans My Stop to view bus routes and receive real-time arrival updates. Log in using your child's student ID number and date of birth.
๐ Transportation Form Deadlines
If you did not complete the Skyward Transportation Form selecting bus transportation by August 2, your child will not have an afternoon bus route during the first two weeks of school.
Even if your child is permitted to ride the bus to school on the first day, they will not be able to ride the bus home until bus service begins on Monday, August 24. Please make alternate afternoon transportation arrangements until then.
๐ Track Your Child's Bus with the MyStop App
