Brief Message From the Principal

Dear Rider Families,

The school year has started off wonderfully, thank you for sending us your special little people everyday! I have a couple quick reminders that will help us have a smooth school year:

1. Please make sure to pull all the way forward when you are doing car riders drop off or pick up- even on Friday mornings!

2. Drop off time is after 7:30 AM

3. Pick up time should be by 3:15- if you are after 3:15 you will have to come and sign your student out of the office.

4. If your student is absent, please call the attendance line to report their absence. 217-268-4703, option 1.

5. Please make sure you have downloaded the Arcola App from the app store on Android or Apple! We will be EXCLUSIVELY using "Rooms" to communicate to parents.

This month's newsletter highlights some accomplishments of our school, upcoming dates, our attendance challenge, and much more! Make sure to ask your student about Rider Bucks and how they are earning them at school!

Happy to be back!

- Mrs. Brewer

PBIS Update- From Assistant Principal Jackson PBIS Update- From Assistant Principal Jackson

Highlight

PBIS is off to a great start this year! Using our new behavior matrix, students spent time last week visiting different areas throughout the school and learning what it means to be safe, respectful, and responsible in each setting.

Each week, we’ll celebrate a specific area where our Riders are demonstrating these important behaviors. Last week, our Riders did an outstanding job during our annual bus evacuation drills! Students were attentive, followed directions, and showed great respect throughout the process.

We are so proud of the way our students demonstrated safe, respectful, and responsible behavior. Keep up the great work, Riders!

Bus and After School Safety

1. At pickup and drop-off: Parents, please stay in your car and have students enter and exit the car on the sidewalk side.

2. After school: Students please do not ride bicycles and scooters in the drive where buses pick up. This is dangerous, if buses do not see you!

3. Parents: Please make sure to look out for buses. Never pass a bus when it is stopped. Drive slow and follow the speed limit by the school.
