Student Goal Setting Student Goal Setting

Parent Report Card Pick Up will provide families with an opportunity to meet the teachers in-person or virtually and hear about how their child is doing and how we can better partner to support their needs.

This year, Jungman is working on an initiative to have every student set goals around attendance, grades and assessments. As part of this, all teachers and administrators at Jungman have a group of students who they are meeting with 1:1 to talk about these goals and how students can work to achieve them. The assigned teacher will touch base with the students throughout the year on these goals. Many of these conversations have happened over the past week. IF your child did not work on their goals yet, they will have them done in coming days.

Please take the opportunity to talk to your students about their goals as well. A lot of our goals center on fact fluency for math and reading comprehension which requires practice at home!

Attendance Updates! Our Goal is Every Student, Every Day! Attendance Updates! Our Goal is Every Student, Every Day!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

This year, we are closely monitoring student attendance with the goal of reducing the rate of chronic absenteeism from its current 39%—which is 10% above the state average—down to 15%.

This was a rough week for attendance! As students are just starting 2nd quarter, let's make sure they are here, on-time, and ready to learn!

If your child is having issues with attending school regularly, please reach out to Ms. Sarah VanWolvelear at sevanwolvelear@cps.edu immediately to discuss supports and a plan!

Local School Council: Next Meeting is November 11, 2024 at 2:45 PM

  • Comprised of parents, community, educational, and student members, LSCs serve as an important vehicle for participatory democracy, providing a wide variety of stakeholders an opportunity to make important decisions about how students in their communities will be educated.

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC): The next PAC meeting will take place on Friday, November 8 at 8:00am.

  • Each academic year, schools establish Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) to bring together parents/legal guardians, teachers/staff, and community stakeholders to work with their school principal in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of the Title I Program. PACs empower parents to inspire and assist their children in achieving educational goals and graduating from elementary and high school.

Bilingual Advisory Committee (BAC): The next PAC meeting will take place on Friday, November 8 at 8:00am.
