AVA Family Update
September 13, 2024
Good morning AVA Students and Families,
In addition to the usual schedule, guidance and community updates, and important dates section of this weeks newsletter, I have two items of note:
1. If you are a new to AVA parent, and you would like access to the parent portal of Edgenuity, which allows you to track your student's time on task and performance, I ask that you email from the email account that you want associated with the portal. Just let me know you want access, and I will add you.
2. For this first time, the High School is offering a during the school day PSAT and SAT. On October 23rd, the initial plan is to offer all 10th grade students a free chance to take the PSAT. 11th grade students may opt in, but it will cost $20. 12th graders will also be offered a chance to take the SAT that day. Students need to let me know by Friday of next week if they are interested, and I'll get more information as it becomes clear.
Thank you for your time.

Guidance Updates
Welcome Handout - all grades
AVA guidance has created this welcome handout as a general information page, including Ms Nellie's contact information, resources available on campus, and useful links to the AHS/AVA graduation requirements and student activities.
NCAA Registration
AVA students and families who are interested in participating in collegiate sports through the NCAA, please register online at the Eligibility Center website (linked HERE). If you are not sure what type of account to create, we recommend starting with a free PROFILE account. Students can later advance to a CERTIFICATION account after starting with a profile account. Although you may register even after high school graduation, we strongly recommend doing so while still enrolled in high school to ensure a smoother transfer of school records and information. AVA's CEEB code for NCAA registration is: 220067.
