Vertical Winter Choir Concert

Students from MacArthur High School along with Mead, Hambrick, Aldine, and Grantham Middle schools all joined together for the winter concert which was a beautiful success to the ear.

Shout outs to Ms. Martin, Ms. Cranford, Mrs. VanGils, and Ms. Susan Mullikin for assisting, chaperoning, and hemming dresses for our choir students.

Hambrick Hawk Chorale Performance

The Hambrick Hawk Chorale performed at the Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church with the Woodlands Chorale.

The Hambrick Hawk Chorale is a combination of students selected from each choir class and includes 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. This group has met about six times since the beginning of November to prepare for this performance. And the Woodlands Chorale is a community chorus that performs in The Woodlands, TX. Their vision is to perform beautiful classical and contemporary choral music for the Woodlands community.

This concert was really eye-opening for our students who have never seen a choir perform music of this caliber in person. They were so focused on the beautiful music and couldn't stop talking about it on the ride back home! They also enjoyed performing for one of the most supportive audiences we've ever sung for. There were many audience members who came up and congratulated the ladies after their performance.

I would like to give a big shout out to one of our Hambrick students who performed a solo with the Woodlands Chorale during our combined song. Savani Gonzalez, an 8th grader, sang so beautifully and received several compliments from choir members and their director.

Also, the MacArthur Jammin' Generals Percussion shared the stage with our Hambrick Percussion at the holiday concert as they performed the same piece entitled Christmas Eve/Sarajevo.
