Lead Story
Clear Expectations, Confident Starts
Our teachers did a great job helping students become comfortable in their classrooms during the first week. Students reviewed syllabi and classroom expectations, and Mrs. Aowad used a scavenger hunt to help students learn where classroom items are located.
Before the activity, Mrs. Aowad clearly explained what she needed to see and hear from students. That simple step helped prepare everyone for the activity and is a strong example of how clear expectations help students begin with confidence.
Three Things to Know
1) Welcome Back, Polar Bears
2) Ready Every Day
Badges must be worn in the building with the student’s face visible. Temporary badges are available at entrance 21E upon arrival; students should not wait to get one and must return it to the Learning Commons at the end of the day. Consequences are issued after the fifth temporary badge.
Students should also bring their school Chromebook charged and in its provided case. Damaged Chromebooks may result in a repair fee. Chromebooks are school property, and intentional damage violates the school handbook.

Parents and Teachers Together
P.A.T.T represents Parents and Teachers Together! One of our goals as the Parent Group is to create fun activities for the students, while showing our support to the teachers and staff. Various events throughout the school year are put on by the P.A.T.T. Another goal that we have is to raise funds for J.M.M.S, to allow for upgrades around the school!
6th Grade Parents – We’d Love Your Help! 🎃💜💛
Join us on September 10 at 6:00 PM at Ohio Roasting as we begin planning the 6th Grade Halloween Dance on October 8!
All 6th grade parents are welcome to attend and help us brainstorm, plan, and make the dance a fun night for our students.
Please note: This is not an official PATT meeting. We will be focused specifically on planning the Halloween dance.
We hope you can join us!
Getting involved with JMMS PATT is a way to support students, teachers, and the school community. Families can help by volunteering at events and activities, supporting fundraisers, or sharing ideas.
Backpack Food Program
The Jackson Local Schools Backpack Food Program, offered in partnership with RiverTree Jackson, is available to Jackson families. Families who participated last year were sent the program link by email.
