In grade 7, John Neff took 1st place, while Colten Taylor was 3rd, and Luke Lorenz was also a finalist. In grade 6, Xavier Garcia came in 2nd place, and Zachary Shirk earned a finalist spot as well. All of these placers and finalists earned a spot in the national finals should they choose to attend.

GMS Leadership Transition Expected for 2026-2027 GMS Leadership Transition Expected for 2026-2027

Dear Graham Middle School Students and Families,

I am writing to share that I have made the difficult decision to resign from my position as Principal of Graham Middle School, effective July 31, 2026.

Serving this school and community over the past 12 years has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life. I am deeply grateful to Graham Local Schools for taking a chance on me as a young administrator and for continually challenging me to grow. Together, we have accomplished incredible things for students, achievements made possible through dedication, perseverance, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Being a building principal is a uniquely demanding role that extends far beyond the traditional school day. It requires balancing instructional leadership, student support, staff development, and community engagement, often during early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. While the challenges are significant, they are far outweighed by the purpose and fulfillment that come from serving this school community. I have given everything I can to this role, and I believe this is the right time for a new chapter.

I have accepted a position with Fairborn City Schools as the Secondary Curriculum Supervisor. This opportunity represents an important step for me professionally and, more importantly, for my family. While I am excited for what lies ahead, it is incredibly difficult to leave a place that has meant so much to me.

I am especially proud of the work we have done together at Graham Middle School. From the opportunities we provide students through academics, activities, and events, to the culture we have built as a staff and community, our school stands as a source of pride. Being recognized as the only 5-star rated building in Champaign County is a reflection of the commitment and care each and every person in this building brings every day.

Please know that I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition and will do everything I can to support the district and the next principal in this role.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and the opportunity to serve our students. Graham Middle School will always hold a special place in my heart.

Sincerely,
Nick Guidera
