At Boulevard Elementary, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment where every child is known, valued, and challenged to reach their full potential. We know that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success, and we look forward to working alongside you throughout the year. Our instructional focus continues to be guided by the Boulevard Blueprint and what it means to be a good learner. Persistence, Inquisitiveness, Problem-Solving, Collaboration, Reflection and Engagement are the attributes that help students develop the skills they need to be successful both in and out of the classroom. Throughout the year, students will continue to strengthen their Learner Powers and celebrate them as they exhibit success.

As a reminder, the school day begins at 8:45 a.m. Breakfast is available daily. Students who wish to eat breakfast may enter through the designated breakfast entrance beginning at 8:20 a.m. Please note that adult supervision is not available before 8:20 a.m. For the safety of all students, we kindly ask that children not be dropped off or come to school before 8:20 a.m. unless your child participates in the Right to School before-care program.

Heights Athletic Boosters is getting hyped for the fall sports season and they want you to join in the fun!

The third annual Hype the Heights event will take place at Heights High this Saturday, August 8 from 11am to 2pm. Because the high school track is still under construction, Hype the Heights activities have been moved to the baseball field and parking lot on the eastern side of the building.

This event is part Field Day for community youth, with yard games, face painting, sports activities, a bounce house, an inflatable obstacle course and the return of perennial favorite, the Big Kahuna water dump. One good aim of a ball will tip a bucketful of cold water onto the student or brave staff member sitting underneath.

Admission prices are $5 per person with a $15 max per family. Youth and middle school sports teams can enter for $20 total if they have a coach present.

There will be vendors, food trucks, info tables hosted by some of our youth sports teams and community organizations, and a raffle filled with local goodies, including a Laila Edwards hockey jersey, and fun opportunities, like spots at the Homecoming tailgate.

The event is also part Media Day for high school athletes, with senior banner photos and group, team and candid shots coordinated by Boosters board member, photographer and media content creator Jason Garrett. Senior athletes should attend in their jerseys, with all other student-athletes wearing black and gold or team swag.

Heights Athletic Boosters will also be signing up members and Future Tigers and collecting new and gently used sports gear for its Coaches’ Closet.

New this year, MetroHealth will be staffed by a provider – former Heights athlete Dr. Vanessa Maier – who will be available to perform physicals so students and student-athletes will be ready for the school year. This parental consent form must be filled out ahead of time and appointments should be made by calling 216-957-1303. Tours of the MetroHealth clinic will also be available.

Come on out and join in the excitement of a new school year as we Hype the Heights.
