Parent Update 2.28.25 Parent Update 2.28.25

Spring is around the corner as the snow melts and we prepare for the last week of the 2nd trimester at WHS! Thanks to our students and staff for their hard work the most of the last few days of instruction. WHS students are reminded to bring a fully charged Chromebook to school each day as classroom spares are very limited.

Families are encouraged to continue reviewing Skyward and reach out to your student’s teachers with any questions or to discuss potential supports. ELT continues to be a fantastic resource that students can use to request teachers through Edficiency they would like to meet with to make up missing work or receive extra help.

New at WHS for the 3rd trimester is the use of Rooms (see information below). Rooms will eventually become the primary communication tool with WHS families so if you have not created an account or downloaded the app now is a great time to get a head start before the 3rd trimester officially begins on Monday, March 10th! Students will receive information next week on how to create a student account in Rooms. Thanks in advance to our students, staff, and families for their flexibility as we work to streamline communication across the district.

Remember that WHS will have a full day of school next Thursday, March 6. There is no school district wide on Friday, March 7.

Have a great weekend!

WUSD Referendum Information WUSD Referendum Information

The April 1, 2025 referendum has the potential to significantly impact funds supporting the quality of programs, staff, and safety measures in place at WHS, and across all district school buildings. Our goal is to ensure that families and community members have as much information as possible to make an informed decision. Great resources to review include the WUSD referendum page as well as the FAQ document (FAQ in Spanish).

In the meantime, if you have any questions always feel free to reach out to WHS Principal, Josh Kerr, at kerrj@mywusd.org or (920) 262-7500 x6809.

Rooms Rooms

The WUSD's new communications tool, Rooms, launches at the start of the Third Trimester for WHS. Rooms is intended to become the new primary communications platform for the district. We are asking all parents and guardians to please download the Watertown USD app (if you have not done so already) or log into edurooms.com on your desktop computer. If you choose to view Rooms through the app, please make sure you turn on notifications. This is important, as we don't want any families to miss out on future communications from their student's teachers or coaches.

Once you log in, you are logged in for the duration of the time you have students in the district. Help us make Rooms a success!

Watertown Irish Jig Jog 5K - March 15

The Jig Jog 5k Run/Walk event is the biggest fundraiser for the Watertown Educational Foundation, which gives classroom grants to Watertown teachers. Last year, $50,000 was awarded to Watertown Schools!

The success of the event depends greatly on race course volunteers the day of the event :). The Educational Foundation is in need of 50 volunteers to cover the entire course and currently only have half of those positions secured. The race this year takes place on Saturday, March 15th, 10am. Volunteers will donate one hour of their time and it's a super fun event to be a part of. Volunteers would be responsible for watching traffic to be sure runners/walkers are safe, and joining in the fun with spirited cheering (& costume if they like).

If you prefer to participate in the race, please use this link to sign up!
