High School Happenings

We want our students to have a fun and amazing time at the Prom at Presidential Caterers in Norristown.

The Prom starts at 6:00 pm and doors close at 6:30 pm. It ends at 10:00 pm and nobody will be allowed to leave before 9:30 pm without parent permission.

No bags will be allowed inside. Small purses will be checked at the door and everyone will searched before entering.

Please remember that students need to follow all the same school rules. Anyone who does not follow all school rules will leave the prom. If students are going to Post Prom they need to be back at school by 11:15. Again, all school rules apply at Post Prom as well.

This will be an absolutely amazing night for everyone.

The Junior Class had an assembly this past Thursday explaining Senior Portraits. Please see the attached slideshow that was shared during their presentation. I also wanted to highlight important information about scheduling Senior Portraits for your students in case they have questions. We are excited about continuing our partnership with CADY and are hopeful that it leads to an easier process and an amazing outcome for our students and their photographs. I wanted to highlight some key points made today:

1. There is a $0 option for Senior Portraits that is available to all students at either a campus roadshow at Methacton High School or private photo shoot at CADY studio. Parents are not obligated to purchase a photo package from CADY, the $0 session will be the photo that is used in next year's High School Yearbook.
2. Methacton High School will have (3) dates available for photos to be taken at the High School. The dates are 8/21-9:30am-6pm; 9/25-9:30am-6pm; 10/14-9:30am-6pm. Sessions are open to schedule now. Time slots open sequentially as others fill so continue to check the site as more times will be made available. https://home.cady.com/for-seniors/
3. Most sessions will include a paperback portfolio being sent to you featuring photos from your session. The portfolio is sent with a return label for your convenience. If you do not wish to keep the portfolio, simply return it by the deadline indicated on your CADY student dashboard. If you choose to keep the portfolio, there will be a charge.
4. Photo prices for Senior Portraits vary in price. Packages are more expensive but a la carte options begin at $49.99. Cady has options for everyone!
5. All Seniors will be gifted a 5x7 cap & gown photo with their diploma at graduation.

The last week of April is a busy one for the Special Education Alliance Home & School Association! All Methacton parents are welcome at our Wednesday, April 29th meeting in the high school library at 7pm and at our virtual speaker series on IEP collaborative partnerships on Thursday, April 30th at 7 pm. Is there a teacher who made a difference in your child's life?

Show them how much you appreciate them by participating in the Methacton Education Foundation's Share the Love Program! The program honors the Methacton teachers and staff who positively impact our students. With a donation, you can recognize your child's current or former teacher with a Share the Love certificate and personal message. Certificates will be delivered on your behalf in May, which is teacher and staff appreciation month!

Orders will be collected until May 8. Your donation supports teacher innovation and creativity while honoring their commitment to your student!
