Leschi Community Update

Hello Leschi Families,

We are nearing the end of October. Next week we have our end of October Assembly on Wednesday, October 28th. We will recognize our Leschi Pups of the Month, Recess winners, and anti-bullying month for October.

Friday, October 30th is dress up day. Students may wear costumes to school but the school day will continue to follow our regular schedule so costumes should not impede their ability to participate in art, recess, and completing lessons and schoolwork. The school rules for costumes are NO masks, NO makeup, NO props (extra pieces to carry and keep track of). We have young students in our building, so nothing too scary (use your best judgement on that one). If your child doesn't celebrate or would prefer not to dress up, they can come to school in either the PJs/comfy clothes or in fancy/dress-up clothes!

Chess/Art Lab/Gaming/Dance/Cooking -

Without a parent or community volunteer to step up as our class vendor coordinator, we will be forced to cancel ALL after-school enrichment programs for the Winter Term. The Coordinator job is done from home, emails during enrollment time, and then making sure students who apply for sponsorship get enrolled via the PTA

This helper position ( could be you and a friend! ) provides access to these art, music, and STEAM opportunities. Providing equal access to these enrichment programs, our Leschi equity imperative, but we cannot do it alone.

Our kids need someone to step up and be their champion right now. If you are able to partner or are interested in keeping these opportunities open for our elementary students, please email info@leschipta.org

Community News

Washington Middle School is holding a school carnival on Friday, October 30th 6 – 8 pm. All members of the community are invited. There will be a Haunted House (optional!), Family Games, and a Trunk or Treat! All elementary kiddos should come with an adult. More details can be found here.
