A Message from Dr. Holt
Dear RFISD Community,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!
The start of school has been filled with energy, optimism, and a renewed sense of purpose across all of our campuses. Whether you’re a returning member of the RFISD community or joining us for the very first time, we’re so glad you’re here. Together, we have the opportunity to make this year one of connection, growth, and excellence.
I want to take a minute to celebrate our successes. The previous year was full of our students and staff doing great things! We saw a number of our Ro-Hawks compete at the state level. We had students achieve certifications in fields of study. We had an absolutely dominate academic team at Randolph Elementary School. And, most recently, we learned that RFISD achieved “A” ratings in the state accountability across all three campuses. I am proud to be part of this community and excited about the year to come.
We’re already seeing classrooms come alive with curiosity and collaboration, students reconnecting with friends and teachers, and staff going above and beyond to create a safe and engaging environment for all learners. We’re grateful to our families for the trust you place in us and for the important role you play in your children’s educational journey.
We appreciate your patience as we adapt to new state rules and requirements--please know the RFISD Board of Trustees and district leadership is hard at work keeping what is most important in mind--our students!
As we kick off the year, I encourage everyone to stay connected through ParentSquare, attend campus events when you’re able, and reach out if you have questions or ideas to share. Your partnership is key to helping our students thrive.
We look forward to a year filled with academic achievement, artistic expression, athletic success, and meaningful community impact. Let’s make 2025–2026 a year to remember—together.
Warm Regards,
Brian Holt, EdD

Randolph Review: Helpful links/resources for the RFISD community
ParentSquare Info
RFISD will continue using ParentSquare as our district-wide communication tool (you can click on the logo for a helpful Getting Started Guide)! We have also included some additional flyers that you may find helpful as you familiarize yourself with ParentSquare.
As a reminder, the 1604 Gate Openings will continue to be shared on the ParentSquare Calendar, which keeps them limited to only being accessible by our current RFISD parents, students, and staff.
On that note, we would like to request that individuals who do have access to our ParentSquare postings not share or post that information on other sites or within other non ParentSquare groups. This is a safety issue, and we appreciate your assistance and cooperation!
For additional ParentSquare resources, please visit our ParentSquare Hub, which can be found here.
STANDARD RESPONSE PROTOCOL
As a reminder, RFISD has implemented a district-wide safety plan, following the Standard Response Protocols outlined in the graphic below.
This widely recognized program is designed to enhance the safety and security of our students, staff, and community. It provides a clear, consistent approach to emergency response, ensuring that everyone knows what to do in various situations. We are committed to creating a safe learning environment, and this addition to our safety measures is a key step in that effort. Further details can be found below.
All safety notifications will be communicated via ParentSquare, and, in the event that we activate one of the safety actions below, you will receive a text, email, and/or phone call using the action words: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, or Shelter.
In the event of an actual HOLD, SECURE, LOCKDOWN, EVACUATE, or SHELTER situation (not a drill situation), you will be notified based on the following:
1. In non-threatening/non-urgent safety situations, you will receive a “Smart Alert”—this means that you will receive the information based on your preferred ParentSquare communication settings.
2. In the event of a serious safety situation, you will receive an “Urgent Alert”—this means that you will receive the information immediately, regardless of your preferred notification settings.
Please note, in any drill OR actual emergency situation, it is imperative that parents/guardians NOT come to or contact the campus upon receiving the notification, unless instructed to do so. We ask that you remain available and continue to monitor ParentSquare for updates, but, again, please do not come to or contact the campus. We will always share additional information via ParentSquare as soon as we are able.
