Paradise Place ETNS Newsletter
30 November 2025
Dear parents, carers, staff and friends,
Reminder - school closure on Monday
A reminder that school is closed this Monday, 1st December as all our staff have a training day for the new Child Protection Procedures for schools.
We will be open again as usual on Tuesday 2nd.
Don't miss it - Winter Art - 5th December
Our annual 'Winter Art' sessions will take place from 8.50 a.m. on Friday 5th December in each classroom (except Lorna's class, which will take place on Friday 12th). All families are welcome and encouraged to join us for an hour of fun and creativity.
Older children can join their younger siblings to keep families together.
Parent-Teacher Meetings
Thank you all so much for coming to your scheduled parent-teacher meeting last week. We had an excellent turn-out and the new timings seemed to suit everyone much better. If you missed your meeting, please re-arrange with your child's class teacher this week.
We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to speak to your child's teacher. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces leaving the building! If you have any questions or want to follow up on anything that was said, please get in touch and we'll be happy to chat more.
News from last week
Community Quiz
Well done to our 5th and 6th Class quiz teams who came in 3rd Place in last week's quiz, organised for lcoal schools by our Home-School-Community Liaison teachers.
6th Class to Jeanie Johnston
6th Class visited the Jeanie Johnston famine ship on Thursday. The children listened carefully and asked excellent questions. They have been learning all about the Irish Great Famine this half-term and the visit really help support their learning.
Science Week Stars
A few weeks ago, the children in Ali's 2nd and 3rd Class did some filming for Science Week. Check them out in the video below!
Keeping your child safe online
There have been two important news stories this week about children and their safety online. The first is from the Data Protection Commission. Watch their video here:
Roblox
I know Roblox is a very popular online game for lots of children - including some of our youngest children. Please read this article and think about how you are supervising your child's access to this game and ensuring their safety. There is also a link to a Prime Time episode last night which explores this topic more.
Attendance Surprise!
We all celebrated Claire's 3rd Class today who achieved 100% attendance this week - every child in the class was in school every day this week. The children were so proud of themselves and will be getting a big prize next week!
For December, we have an Attendance Surprise! On one day of the month - but we're not telling you which day - there will be a surprise treat of hot chocolate for everyone. You'll have to come to school every day to make sure you don't miss out!
Late Late Toy Show
We are very excited to let you know that the choir from our local secondary school, Mount Carmel, will be singing on the Late Late Toy Show on Friday 5th December. The very best of luck to our past pupils, Blossom, Maja, Asanda, Isabelle and Bianca, who are all performing with the choir. Keep an eye out for them :)
