Superintendent's Weekly Update
March 18th, 2022
September 16, 2022
Dear Weymouth Public Schools' Community,
We've officially welcomed back all our students from our youngest learners at Johnson Early Childhood Center, to our senior Class of 2023.
Last week our educators and teams were focused on introductions and expectations, and this week they began to lay the foundation for the school year. Across all our schools students were engaged and excited for the opportunities to come.
Our transportation personnel have been working diligently to meet the needs of all our families, and we would like to extend an enormous thank you for their hard work the last two weeks. As a reminder, bus routes and application information can be found here. If you would like to request school transportation, you must fill out a transportation application first to determine eligibility.
This week the Abigail Adams Early Education Facilities Committee met to begin the process of designing, developing, and planning for the future of the Abigail Adams facility. This exciting project will include the new Abigail Adams Early Education Center, a centralized preschool designed to meet the physical, educational, and social-emotional needs of our youngest students. We are thrilled to begin this important work, and appreciate everyone who participated in the meeting.
Our Weymouth High School athletes are off to a tremendous start with a number of highlights this week and last, including:
- WHS Varsity Football wins 26-0 against Malden Catholic
- WHS Girls JV Volleyball win 2-0 against Malden Catholic
- WHS Girls Varsity Volleyball win 3-2 against Braintree
- WHS Boys Varsity Soccer win 1-0 against Braintree
- WHS Girls Varsity Soccer win 3-1 against Braintree
Below you can find a link to a calendar of all WHS athletic events, as well as some back to school smiles. Have a great weekend, Wildcats!
Sincerely,
Robert Wargo
Superintendent
