Discovering the Night Sky
Mrs. Hamel’s Astronomy class and a few students who were interested from her other science classes took a field trip to Shiras Planetarium in Marquette. They received an immersive experience learning about the sun which connected nicely to content that both Astronomy and Physical Science students have been learning about in class. Then, they received a tour of the current night sky learning to identify constellations and examined other features. Mrs. Hamel will be returning with her Astronomy class on November 17th and hopes that students from additional classes at Westwood will join them!
