A Message from Principal Laughlin
Dear Parent & Guardians,
Welcome to the start of a wonderful new school year! As we prepare to open our doors, our faculty and staff are excited to welcome our students back for another successful year of growth, learning, and community.
To ensure a smooth and successful start for everyone, it is critical that all families thoroughly review the August Newsletter which contained detailed information regarding the below topics:
Cell Phone Mandate: WIS compliance with state legislation.
Scheduling & Bus Information: You can access your child’s schedule by first completing the mandatory forms in the Genesis Parent Portal
Lunch Program: Replenish student balances, menus, and apply for Free & Reduced Benefits at PaySchools Central
School Supplies: Class supplies requested can be found at 26-27 Supply List
Important Dates: September is a busy month, please look at the important dates listed in the August newsletter and mark your calendar accordingly.
Absence Reporting: A parent is able to report a student's absence by calling the ATTENDANCE LINE (732) 556-2525 or by utilizing a new feature in the Genesis Parent Portal (click here for directions).
Kindly make sure to review with your child the 26-27 Parent/Student Handbook so that your child knows expectations.
As a reminder, Thursday (September 3rd) is the first day of school for students. Friday (September 4th) is an early dismissal at 12:20pm. Class begins sharply at 8:10am. I hope everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. Schools are closed on Monday (September 8th).
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. Together, we are going to make this an incredible school year!

Ready, Set, Belong: 5 Ways to Prepare for a Positive Start
Whether your child is entering elementary, middle, or high school, the start of a new school year brings a mix of excitement, anticipation, and sometimes a little uncertainty. While each stage of development presents unique experiences, there are a few universal strategies that can help students of all ages feel prepared, connected, and confident.
1. Get Back into a Routine
A week or two before school starts, begin returning to school-year routines. Younger children can practice bedtime and morning routines, while older students can reset sleep schedules and organize school materials.
2. Build a Sense of Belonging
Connecting with familiar peers can make returning to school feel easier. Plan a playdate for younger children or encourage older students to connect with friends before the first day.
3. Get Familiar with the School Routine
Help your child know what to expect. Younger children can practice drop-off, while older students can review schedules, transportation, locker combinations, or classroom locations.
4. Encourage Voice and Agency
Help your child practice speaking up, asking for help, and solving everyday problems. Talk through situations such as forgetting lunch, getting lost, missing the bus, or needing help. Older students can practice emailing a teacher or asking a question on their own.
5. Talk About Their Feelings
Make time to talk about excitement, worry, or uncertainty. Help your child make a simple plan, such as talking to a Trusted Adult, reaching out to a friend, or asking a teacher for help.
