BEAR NEWSPARENT / STUDENT NEWSLETTER BEVERLY HILLSSeptember 2026

Hello BHI Families,

We are officially settling into the school year, and it has been wonderful to see our students engaged in learning, building relationships, and growing each day. Classrooms are focused and productive, and our teachers are working hard to provide meaningful learning experiences that challenge and support every student.

Throughout the first few weeks of school, students have been participating in activities through their mentor classes designed to help them develop strong academic habits. They have been learning how to monitor their grades, set goals, stay organized, and take ownership of their progress. These skills are critical to long-term success both inside and outside the classroom.

Progress reports have already been released, and now is a great time to have conversations with your child about their academic goals. We encourage families to regularly check grades through the parent portal, discuss areas of success and growth, and ask students what goals they have set for the week. These simple conversations can have a powerful impact on student achievement and accountability.

As always, we continue to reinforce our campus expectations and encourage students to do their Personal Best each day. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment where every student feels supported and empowered to do their best.

September promises to be an exciting month at BHI. From classroom learning to extracurricular activities, there are many opportunities for students to get involved, connect with their peers, and make the most of their intermediate school experience.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to seeing you at Open House!

Dismissal Procedures Dismissal Procedures

As we strive to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, I want to take a moment to remind you about our dismissal procedures.

Car Riders:
Our standard procedure is for car riders to be picked up in the front of the school. However, if you choose to pick up your child in the side parking lot, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Park in Designated Areas: It is imperative that you park your vehicle in a designated parking space and refrain from parking on the curb. This ensures a smooth flow of traffic and prevents congestion in the area.

Exercise Caution: We strongly advise against picking up your child in the side parking lot, as it can pose safety risks. However, if you opt for this alternative, please exercise extreme caution and be vigilant of other vehicles and pedestrians.

Increased Awareness: We have noticed an increase in the number of vehicles parking on the curb, which is a safety concern. Therefore, we cannot allow anyone to park in such a manner, as it obstructs traffic and jeopardizes the safety of our students and staff.

Bus Riders:

To ensure safety and efficiency, ALL all bus riders must report to the cafeteria for dismissal. Any bus rider who goes outside to wait for their bus will not be allowed to board. We'll continue to remind students of this, but we urge you to reinforce this message at home.

Your cooperation in following these procedures is greatly appreciated, as safety is our utmost priority. By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure a secure and efficient dismissal process for everyone involved.
