September Edition
Delgado's Notes
Welcome Back to School! We have been back for almost a full month and everyone is settling nicely into their daily routines. It is so warming to see everyone back and ready to embark upon another amazing school year. Our first Frost Family meeting was held on September 4th. During this meeting our Core Climate Team introduced our school wide theme, One Team One Dream. We introduced all staff members and reviewed schoolwide expectations by location. Students were so excited to come together and celebrate the start of a new school year.
Assessment cycles are well underway. This will allow our teachers to have the data required to create a starting point for academic growth. Our goal is to see individualized improvement in all of our students. As an academic team we are committed to partnering with families to ensure that all of our students continue to develop the skills to be lifelong learners. This year's theme is truly indicative of what we have established at Frost. Each year we grow as a Frost Family and I know this year we will do the same. As always thank you for your continued support!
Important Information
- This is just a friendly reminder that all students should arrive to school by 8:55 AM to enter the building. Security and the arrival staff will be outside at approximately 8:50 to gather students in preparation to enter the building. All students are allowed into classrooms by 9:00 AM. The arrival doors will be closed at 9:00 AM (this is not inclusive of the ELA Program) and students who arrive after that time will enter through security and parents must sign them in. We are doing a great job thus far, and I want to ensure that all students are in class for the start of instruction.
- Please remember to label clothing items, especially as the weather gets cooler and students wear outer garments. We want to make sure that all misplaced items get back to the students.
- Student absences can be reported through the Genesis system (see steps below). However, If you need to call the attendance line it can still be accessed 24 hours 7 days a week at 732-613-6850, option 1.
- Please be careful when dropping off and picking up students from the car line. All traffic and safety protocols should be followed (especially using the cross walks). We ask that parents be mindful that arrival/dismissal are the busiest times of the day and should drive with caution.
- Food items can not be brought in for Birthday parties or school celebrations. This is a district policy for the health and safety of our students.
- Friday's are Frost Wear day for our school community. If your child (ren) have Frost gear make sure they wear it every Friday!
- PTA memberships are still open. Please join the PTA they are such an important part of our school community.

October is a busy month for schools across New Jersey! By law, all public school districts recognize Week of Respect during the first full week of October and School Violence Awareness Week, also known as Peace Week, during the third week of October.
At Frost, we will use these important weeks as opportunities to help our students strengthen the skills that make our school community a caring and respectful place. Through age-appropriate lessons and activities, students will explore how kindness is the foundation of respect and how our words and actions can help everyone feel safe, included, and valued.
This year, our lessons connect with our school theme, One Team, One Dream, and our TEAM values:
Trust
A great team is built on trust. Students will learn how being honest, responsible, and kind helps us become teammates others can count on.
Empathy
Empathy makes a team strong. Students will practice understanding how others may be feeling and learn how to help, include, and support one another.
Acceptance
Everyone belongs on our team. Students will explore the importance of accepting and respecting differences and including others so everyone feels that they belong.
Practicing Manners
Being part of a team means putting our values into action. Manners are how we show we care. When we listen, share, and use kind words, we don’t just help ourselves, we help our whole team work better together.
We are excited to help our students understand that every member of the Frost Family has an important role to play on our team!
Lost and Found
If these clothing items belong to you child, please contact the main office. We will make sure that the item goes back to it's rightful owner!
Nurse Abbruscato's Corner
Dear Frost Families,
We are off to a wonderful and healthy school year. The children are adjusting back to school and learning when it is appropriate to see the nurse. School-wide annual height, weight, vision, and hearing screenings by the nurse will begin soon. A referral will be sent home for further follow-up if your child has difficulty with any of the screenings.
