The largest Snowman recorded was 122 ft tall.

Greetings!
Food Drive
Thanks to all the students and families who were able to donate food items to our food pantry. We collected about 600 items of food and drink. Families are invited to “shop” the food pantry now. We have boxes prepared that have a variety of foods, or you can fill a bag yourself with the items you need. If you need us to send a backpack home with your child, we can do that too. We know that having kids home for the November and December breaks can empty the cupboards.
RICAS and NGSA test scores
A letter was sent home with the RICAS (and NGSA if in 6th grade). We are working to improve our scores as a whole school. During our SIT meetings, we will be addressing ELA, Math and Science testing and how as a community we can raise our scores.
SIT meeting
Thanks to the folks who joined us virtually. The voices of our families are valued. Our next SIT meeting will be January 30th 5 - 6 pm and we will look at our goal of increasing ELA proficiency. A link will be shared closer to the date.
Lower School Meeting
We have started our Lower School Meeting again. This is a tradition that we are happy to have back. This is a community meeting that classes share what they are learning, we celebrate student accomplishments and share pats on the back for acts of kindness.
Art Contest
Share your artistic talent and you could win a prize! See flyer below.

Family Engagement
As we approach the Holiday Season and the end of the year I'm feeling thankful for the Highlander Community. Our community is always ready to help in times of need and ready to celebrate our students successes.
Penny War Challenge was a success and I'm still counting money 😂. I'll share with all a report with how much money with raised and what classes won the challenge.
The first week of December we invite families to join us for Lunch with a ❤️ one. Please check your child class dojo for more details and to RSVP. Please make sure you RSVP lunch room has limited space.
There is still time to help Highlander families during the Holiday Season. This year we have about 75 families requesting help. Feel free to share with your family and friends if they are looking for an opportunity to help.
